  1. Though one could also reason for the opposite.. Tekkit has evolved into what it is at this point.. If you're looking for an older version of it maybe they should be appropriately named? Classic server owners should name their servers appropriately to attract players, and use the proper names basically.. Which would make browsing servers an easier task. Naming tekkit appears to have been done to present previous versions with names to differentiate between revisions, to follow the same process once a new mainversion of tekkit evolves, this "old" one should then be renamed, there's been some good names suggested here.. Just a different view on the subject! ^_^
  2. Sure have ! It's just that the question you presented was not strictly about traveling to the moon.. On my server we've got a designated area for launches, on both ends actually, so haven't really tested launching from various locations, and when landing I tend to navigate my moonlander slightly anyway.. Since nobody's posted an answer to the location question I'm guessing most people eighter use launchsites, or simply haven't tested random launches, so why not be the one to test it yourself? ^^
  3. Conduits may be more expensive than pipes, but as mentioned they're much better (conductivepipes can only handle up to about 25MJ/t before overloading), and if you cant afford to make loads of conduits, you might wanna re-plan your machines and wiring schematics ^.^
  4. Many of the effect's you've listed can already be achieved, through PowerSuits.. (possibly through other implemented mods aswell)
  5. Indeed^ The BC conductive pipes are limited in the amount of power they can manage, may also be a powerloss related to BC pipes, not entirely sure on that one though.. (I've read/heard that they can only transfer upto 25MJ/t, and experimented to verify the fact that they're limited) But Conduits are my new favorites for transfering power, as they can manage what the energy cell can output
  6. Sounds like a good design! Only thing to keep in mind (in my opinion) is the tesseract's 25% powerloss I've read about.. One might need to make several engines to counteract the loss if using tesseracts as a means to wireless power. (not really a problem, just worth keeping in mind/mentioning) Another possible problem would be lava, nether's lava-lakes can be drained.. (after a long-long time, or poor choice of pump location) So mystcraft can be useful by creataing a lava ocean biome, seemingly endless lava production! Remember to put down Dimensional Anchors though, to keep your powersystem operational.. Edit: I'm gonna get to work on switching from my crucible setup into a pump-based one shortly.
  7. The hopper outputs items as gravity would allow, meaning it'll need to be on top of the machine or chest that's going to be fed items, it can input from an adjacent chest. This is how I've got it installed, have a look: (Vanilla MC Hopper) The magma crucible outputs it's lava on it's right, which feeds the engines in the back. 1 Magma Crucible can keep 14 Magma Engines properly stocked with lava as long as you input some netherrack into the diamond chest. The lever is connecting to both the engines and the crucible to make for easy usage. For this setup (and larger ones too naturally) it's best to use Redstone Energy Conduits and Liquiducts. To not limit oneself (conductive pipes cannot handle large amounts of power, or so I've heard), and to avoid creating unnecessary serverstrain, which regular BS Pipes tend to create.
  8. Might wanna take a look at: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/cant-do-anything-on-my-hamachi-server.43792/ The Hamachi discussions/questions are popping up time and time again.. ^_^
  9. Head over to: http://www.technicpack.net/tekkit Grab the 1.0.5 serverfiles Install the server to a new location (new folder) Might wanna launch the server to make all mods generate their files properly, then shut it down.. Keep your world and OP settings by just copying over the "world" folder & the "ops.txt" config from the old server folder to your new one.. Profit! Best of luck!
  10. Righto, it was simple speculation, been a while since i used VLAN programs.. ^_^
  11. Server issue I take it? Have you made sure you're using the latest recommended version of the serverpack? (1.0.3 as of this message) Have you made sure that your java is updated? Tried re-unpacking/installing the server? (to a new folder/location on your haddrive)
  12. Try using another Virtual LAN Service, "Tunngle" might do the trick if you're lucky! or.. You could do stuff to the router/modem and open some ports to bypass the need for VLAN..? Also, check that all connectiong player's have got the latest version of java, older versions may not work as well.. Best of luck!
  13. Same goes for you.. There's a parachute available for the powersuit, if you've got it you can jump of cliffs, and then hold your "sneak key" (Default: Shift) and slowly decend to the ground. If the question was aimed for spacetravels, then what DarkDemon said is indeed correct.
  14. If you've got a powersuit, you should've already done power production. (by my standards) 10 Magmatic Engines will produce 40MJ/t, 1 Magma Crucible will require 40MJ/t to run at 100%, put in a Redstone Energy Cell for storage, and add a few extra Magma Engines and you'll have extra energy produced.. Add too many extra engines, and you'll have to add another crucible to keep up with the engine's lava requirements, so work the balance. The crucible should be fed with netherrack, which shouldn't be a problem once a quarry is placed in the nether Then just connect a hopper to the crucible and have it extract from a chest!
  15. Thanks! That appeared to do the trick, now I'll go setup the Magma Crucible with some netherrack feeding! Hadn't played around with hoppers, so I didn't know that.. But that solved my problem. (Regular "gray" hoppers work this way, the white ones doesn't seem to work the same way though) Experiment I've put a Diamond chest on the ground, 2 hoppers just for the sake of testing on top of the chest, and then put another diamond chest on top with loads of items in it. So the illustration would look like this: Layer 3 (Top) - Chest (Input) Layer 2 - Hopper Layer 1 - Hopper Layer 0 (Bottom) - Chest (Output)
