  1. Nvm, I got it. If anyone else happens to come upon this in the future, you open your ops.txt file and add your username. The first time I launched after that, I typed "/op yourusername". (I'm not sure if that part is necessary) and then open your inventory, and click options on the bottom left of the screen. The top right option will either be "Utility mode" or "Recipe mode". Click it a couple of times to change it to cheat mode, and now you can nab whatever.
  2. Scratch that, I found the ops.txt. I added myself and then did /op crotchcritter and gave myself operator rights, but i still can't grab blocks. Ops can't have a creative inventory, so now I just need to find out how to become an admin without a admin.txt file (I double checked after I found ops.txt, there's definitely not an admin.txt)
  3. I tried that, says I don't have permission. Contact your server administrator...lol I found this on the wiki, but I can't seem to find an admin.txt or an ops.txt Configure the server by editing the server.properties file, the format for which is explained here. Be certain to edit the file with a text editor that does not add formatting (e.g., for italics). Additional configuration may not be necessary as many servers run fine from the default values. Add your username to the admin.txt and/or ops.txt (newer Minecraft versions may not have an admin.txt file). Ops.txt and admin.txt determine who may execute server commands. In other words, operator ("op") privileges allow you to control certain aspects of the game (e.g., teleporting players). Op privileges may also be granted from the server GUI: type "op <username>" and it will automatically add <username> to the ops.txt file. Being an op will not let you fly and/or have a creative inventory
  4. I setup the server and everything is working fine, except...I need to be able to click on items and have them appear in my inventory to test the new mods. When I click on them nothing happens, it just shows me a recipe. I think I need to become an admin to be able to do this? I say that because on my buddies server I could do it, and I also had control over the time (set it to morning, etc.) Is there anyone who can walk me through this? I set everything up with the tekkit launcher server download.
