Tekkit Classic Batbox Physics

  1. Err... So I'm confused...

In creative mode... I put down a batbox, connected some luminator panels via copper wire, threw in some redstone to the batbox, and the lights came on. Great.

I then killed the wire between the batbox and the luminators. They stayed on. I then destroyed the batbox. The luminators remain on. Huh? Is this a huge bug or what?

    Doug.
  2. Nothing strange there. The luminators have an internal battery which you can charge with a charged battery by right clicking the luminator with the battery. Actually that is the only way to turn on the smaller wall or ceiling luminators, which at this time cannot be connected to cables (anything connected to a cable ends up as a floor panel lamp). When charged, they are supposed to last a couple of MC days, but do not seem to last that long.
  3. 10,000 EU internal storage, using 0.25 EU/t. This will last a total of 33.33333... minutes. A Minecraft day is 20 minutes long. So the internal storage will suffice for roughly one and two thirds of a Minecraft day.

Putting it differently, a Luminator will consume 6,000 EU every Minecraft day.
  4. Luminators are very buggy in my experience. I've tried using them a few times and have made wiring systems that should work, but then only half of them actually light up. i always end up going back to Redpower2 Lamps.
