  1. Title: Friend Can't Connect To My Tekkit Server
    Version: 3.1.2
    OS: Windows XP
    Java Version: Java 7

    Description of Problem:
OK so I've already port forwarded the port 25565, I've allowed the port on my windows firewall, I've tried turning off my firewall and nothing will work. My friend always get "Cannot Reach Server", I've tried everything to try and fix this problem, here's what I've tried:
    I've made a new port.
I've tried doing it with my firewall off.
    I've Port Forwarded Many times.
Nothing is working, any other suggestions?

  2. Did you make sure to port forward the TCP Port on port 25565?
  3. When I port forwarded the port 25565 I was able to choose 3 options, UDP, TCP, or BOTH, I selected BOTH, I'll change it to TCP and try to get him on the server and see what happens.
  4. If it's already using TCP and UDP that wont really change anything.
  5. OK so we just tried it and he still can't connect. Any suggestions on what I should try next?

Can he see your server? Does he have an AV or firewall that could be blocking his connection?
  7. He's not using a firewall but he's using Norton. I don't think that would affect anything since he's able to connect to other servers. What do you mean by "see" my server?

Norton could very well have kept his launcher from pulling all his mods correctly, but it shouldn't keep him from connecting, no. Did you mean other Tekkit servers? By "see" I meant if he adds your server to his list (instead of Direct Connecting), does it show up with signal?
  9. Yes I did mean other Tekkit servers. And when he adds my server it shows no connection, it does the initial scan and then the connection bar goes red with a red X over it meaning it couldn't connect. IT also says Cannot Reach Server.

That generally means the port-forwarding is not done correctly, he has the IP wrong, or there's another firewall in the way. Beyond that, I'm stumped.
  11. I'm pretty sure I port forwarded correctly, should I try and have him join my server with my firewall off?

Your OP said that was something you'd tried already, so I didn't ask. Yes, I would do that, if you haven't.
  13. What I meant in the OP was that I didn't start up my firewall in my control panel. I'm gonna start it up and turn it off and have him try to connect and see what happens.
