Launcher Login Failed

Operating System: Windows 7 64bit
Java Version: jre 7u9 windows-64

Description of Problem:
In the Technic Launcer when 'Connecting to www.minecraft.net' it says 'Login Failed...' and a pop-up window asks 'Would you like to run in offline mode?' so just to see what would happen I clicked yes. I can click on multiplayer and see the server I play on, when I try to join it I get 'Connection Lost' followed by 'Internal client error:java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out:connect' I played last night so I'm quite frustrated. I searched the forums for a related post but couldn't find any. I apologize if I missed it or if this is in the wrong section. I would be most appreciative of any help.

The minecraft servers are down. This is a mojang problem. It should be fixed soon(ish).

yes, the servers are down hopefully the are fixed soon. unfortonatery there is nothing we can do but wait, unless you work for Mojang
