Bug Technic launcher unable to authenticate with minecraft.net

Title: Technic launcher unable to authenticate with minecraft.net

OS: Windows 7 64-bit operating system
Java Version: version 7 update 5

Description of Problem:
Whenever i try to login with the technic launcher, it says it's unable to authenticate my account. I am able to log in with the normal minecraft launcher with the same account. I believe that the launcher simply cannot connect to minecraft.net. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Nevermind for some reason downloading the .jar version fixed the problem

mine says it "could not connect to minecraft.net" is this a similar problem? if so should i get the .jar version? ill try that now but just wanted to ask to know that if it doesn't work, you may know how else to fix the error.

never mind. it seemed it worked the second time trying that. thanks. shoult i use the latest build because last time i played it was Technic 6 and i have heard its not like Technic 7.

yeah im getting similar problems now, like it wont update and sometimes can only launch in offline mode

and because it can only launch in offline mode it cant finish updating and crashes
