 Hello!

I just made my first modpack, uploaded it on the site, and my launcher, after downloading it, doesn't open it, and the console says the following, can somebody help me?

The link you have provided is not a valid modpack link. It's not even a link to a ZIP file, but a JAR file. Additionally, you have been asked multiple times to provide the API URL so that we can properly work on your issue. This is the URL you would paste into the Launcher to add your custom modpack. The URL you provided is also linking to a file that is well over 400M in size. This is WAAAY to big for a modpack. If it's that large you have either: 1) Done something very wrong, or 2) Tried to include everything and the kitchen sink in your modpack. (1) we can help with. (2) ain't gonna fly.

Again, please provide the API URL to your custom modpack.

Edit:

I went ahead and downloaded that huge file you posted. Here is some information:

  • The modpack archive must be in ZIP format only, and have the extension of ".zip".
  • The modpack archive should only contain the following folders: bin, config, Flan, mods
  • The bin folder should only contain the file "modpack.jar" which is simply the correct version of the Forge universal binary JAR file renamed to be "modpack.jar".
  • You should never include the modsVoxelMods folder in your modpack archive. The files there will overwrite each client's personal settings.
  • You have multiple duplicate mods, often as both ZIP and JAR files. (i.e. DynamicLights)
  • The Forge installer JAR does not belong in the modpack archive.
  • You should not include any DEV or API (when the API files are intended for use only by developers). The modsdevelopment folder and its contents should be removed.
  • You have mods for both 1.7.10 and 1.7.2. Make completely certain that the 1.7.2 mods are designed to work with both 1.7.2 and 1.7.10. If they do not explicitly state that they do, they probably don't.
  • You have multiple "installers" for mods in your mods folder. The mods need to be installed by you and only included in your modpack archive after installation is complete. That being said, any mods you get as "installers" are HIGHLY suspect as the vast majority of mod devs provide their mods in ZIP or JAR format directly.
  • You have multiple minimap mods in your archive. Choose one and remove the rest.
  • It is highly recommended that you do not include Optifine in your modpack archive. Including it violates the author's restrictions and the mod has a long history of causing problems on some platforms. Have users who want it add it themselves.

Good luck.

Oh well, my first mistake is that I had absolutely no idea what to put in the modpack jar, and as such..well, I messesd up.

This would be it for the modpack, thank you! really, thank you!

Yet one of my two greatest problems (one being this) persists, please, if you wish to help me further, visit this blog.

Thank you.

And also, I updated the modpack to a .zip and I get the error where the launcher says it gets an error while unzipping it.Any solution?

As previously mentioned, the API URL is the URL you would paste into your Launcher to add the pack. Paste that link in here.

Thank you for being this friendly, I highly appreciate it.

Here it should be

And the pack page is here.

  • Your modpack.jar file is not correct. Not only is it a RAR format archive (all archive files intended for use in the platform must be in ZIP format only), it is not the correct file contents. The modpack.jar file is simply the correct version of the Forge universal binary JAR file renamed to "modpack.jar". Nothing more, nothing less. No need to edit its contents or recreate the archive.
  • You still have duplicate mods in your mods folder (i.e. DynamicLights, EyeMod, Ruins, Backpacks). This is "bad".
  • Many of your mods have odd names compared to the files provided by the mod authors. Either you are renaming them (this is bad) or are getting them from some place other than the author's preferred distribution channels (very bad). My recommendation would be to redownload any mod which don't have a mod version number (in addition to the MC version number) in the file name.
  • Your download URL in your pack settings is not a direct URL. Change the "www" in the URL to "dl".

Fix these and come back if you are still having troubles.

Does the modpack.jar have to also contain the assets/meta-inf/net folders?

  • I don't know how to state this any more clearly than I have. The modpack.jar file is ONLY the correct Forge universal binary JAR file renamed to modpack.jar. Don't extract it. Don't delete anything from it. Don't recreate it. Just rename it. You need this file: http://files.minecraftforge.net/maven/net/minecraftforge/forge/1.7.10-10.13.2.1236/forge-1.7.10-10.13.2.1236-universal.jar
  • After fixing the modpack.jar file, the pack does start. However, the log file is FULL of critical errors while trying to load many of your mods. You have a number of mods which are made for Forge/MC 1.7.2. These may work, but many do not. Forge is also complaining that it can't open many of your JAR files. You need to go through every single mod and make sure you have the correct mods and dependencies according to the mod author's instructions.

Please list me the mods for 7.2.

 And, details.

I am very, very sure I have every mod dependency.I know some mods are for 1.7.2, but in normal gameplay they work normally, and never gave me errors like most 1.7.10 mods did.I will delete them, to be sure.

 I will check.

Also, this was my first mistake.I didn't knew it had to be the universal version, my apologies.

As usual, the Flan's mod weapon packs are a hot mess... but they always are. The pack will run with the Flan's errors, but some/many of the items/blocks may be sketchy. Also, it looks like Millenaire isn't installed correctly.

I know.Especially monolith expansion.Flan's one always did problems but It ran.

Millenaire, I was sure.I once deleted it and I was surprised to see it still running in my game, I knew it, thank you!

Deleting it right away.

Is there anything else I need to know?

Well, you need to figure out what's going on with ExtraFood, TMI, and FPS-Plus.

I will check the next report after this deletion.

For me, TMI was incredibly buggy, and I wouldn't bother fixing it, I would rather delete it, I saw it is pretty unpopular in modpacks.Fps-plus fell, so, I will check extrafoods.

Thank you again, I am returning in ten minutes with the answer.

I figured it out.

I searched for extrafoods on the net and everything I saw there was quite unknown to me.I never saw those in my actual game.

Why? It wasn't loaded by the game, I always suspected it, but judging by how many food addon mods I have, I may have lost it.

Deleting it.
