Yet another BIOMES O Plenty Server in need of help

Hi, sorry to add to the already abundant supply of queries about BIOMES O PLENTY being used on servers but i've found nothing about 1.7.10 servers.
So im using a simple forge based server (latest 1.7.10 version), loaded all the mods fine (can provide list if required) and all the mods work absolutely fine client side. However i've tried repeatedly to get BIOMESOP to work on generating the server and to no avail. To address the FAQs:

  1. I have the latest version of BIOMESOP for 1.7.10 (and have tried numerous other versions)
  2. On the newest version there doesn't appear to be a "replace generated biomes with BIOMESOP biomes"
  3. I have tried on the server notepad document (previously server.properties) with:
  • generator-settings=BIOMESOP level-type=DEFAULT
  • generator-settings=                    level-type=BIOMESOP
  • generator-settings=BIOMESOP level-type=BIOMESOP
  1. i have also tried copying over a BIOMESOP world from single player onto the server files, it keeps the generated chunks but then generates vanilla biomes beyond that.

The fact that the client is able to generate BIOMESOP worlds on single player leads me to believe that the mod works fine but something serverside (probably configs) is stopping it.
Any help is appreciated guys

Well im glad someone has finally replied.
I partly agree with you, however ExtrabiomesXL doesn't appear to offer the same variety of biomes as BIOMESOP and i'm using it to modify the biome sizes too.
This is for new map generation i.e. blank slate server not converting an old map so i've not encountered this map corruption with BIOMESOP previously.

Update: tried Extrabiomes XL, caused a crash.
I haven't encountered any of the bugs you've mentioned before and i've ran a server for about a year with it on.
I striped both client and server side down to BIOMESOP only and still the serverside wouldn't generate.
I would really appreciate some help even if that includes someone making a server where BIOMESOP works with this modpack

Saw a few different posts by you about this and decided to wade in. Here are my findings:

I created a Forge 1.7.10 #1240 server using your pack:

  • Removed MDK-1.7.10-7.1.1.127. This is the developers kit and should not be in the client or server.
  • Removed Numina. This is only used by MMMPS which you neither have in your pack, nor for which there is a working version in 1.7.10.
  • Removed Rei's Minimap. Client-only mod.
  • Set level-type to BIOMESOP in the server.properties file.
  • Started server.

I launched your client in my test environment on Forge 1.7.10 #1240 (you have #1230 in your pack). I was able to connect to the server and fly around. Biomes O' Plenty biomes are generating properly and I had no troubles.

I've just tried this, worked a charm thank you!

Strange how the mods were interacting but at least its over thank you.

For anyone wanting the working server i will be fixing the link i mentioned earlier for both the client download and a server download

First off stop using bop as its boken and could result in map corruption. Switch to extra biomes xl and it will work.

Really? Show links and screen's or it didn't happen.

I've been running BOP since 1.4.7 and the new mod pack I'm working on has NO problems with BOP and I've had to generate a new world repeatedly.
