Trying to install the Tekkit Launcher, but keep getting an error no matter what.

I've tried installing with my old Tekkit 1.0 .minecraft and a fresh install, I've tried reinstalling Java, I've even reinstalled the Minecraft.exe, but it's still giving the same error.

It will either get stuck at "Checking Launcher Version...", or if I delete the .technicpack in my Roaming Folder, it will be stuck at "Running Launcher".

Have you tried Shift right clicking the exe and choose run as admin? might be a permission issue

Tried downloading the jar itself (Mac Linux version) and giving that a go
