Description of Problem:

i use steam engines for my pulverizer/powered furnace etc, but when it either runs out of coal/water or it cant store any more MJ, it stops permanently, untill i break them and replace it.

ive tried setting a redstone signal, but that has no effect either.

That's the failsafe mechanism to prevent it exploding. Hit it with a wrench and it'll start up again.
