Possible bug with advanced solar panels and Thermal Expansion?

Alright so I connected some advanced solar panels up to a resonant cell on the moon, and realized I had the heavy wire attached to an output and went to change it. To my surprise the whole cell was full! It had been empty. I tried it again. It seems that when an input is facing the wire it takes a good while like usual, but when its an output it goes up impossibly fast. I would assume this is a bug. But it's an awesome way to fill all my cells right now. ;)

Yep, they work fine normally.  Just avoid linking too much TE stuff to GC stuff - make sure the linkages only happen in one place.

it can cause chunk loss.

Depends on your point of view - I personally have seen a lovely spiralling garbled staircase thingie which was much better than a lot of modern art I've seen.

No argument that it utterly destroyed anything that was in the chunk, though :D

Just to clarify my previous question, whatTE stuff should i avoid hooking up to GC stuff?

Anything that can take or receive power in TE you should be careful to connect only once to a GC power source.  In your example - letting the TE conduit (can take in power) touch the solar panel or wire on multiple sides in the same conduit - the panel/wire outputs power to the TE system each time it touches, not an overall calculation like it should be, so if you had a TE conduit going around a wire in a U shape it'd touch it three times and draw however much power is in the wire out three times (this is where the infinite power comes from).  The corruption comes from the fact that this extra power can exceed the limits that it should be able to in the TE system and after a point the number gets so high that minecraft can't store it in the allocated space any more and it rolls into the next byte of the chunk save file.

A tesseract would be fine in all likelyhood, use GC cables most of the way and go into the tesseract once only, or just make sure any TE conduit touches whatever wire network you have only once and you'll be fine.

ok so no tesseract from main power source to power my space station? And can you please elaborate on how TE power will cause GC stuff to glitch resulting in chunk loss? thanks in advance.[/quot

Also galacticraft stuff isn't that good with connecting to TE stuff. soo i use the solar panels to power battery's. And I use the battery's to power my galacticraft stuff. Also the magmatic dynamo is a great sorce of power for TE stuff.

cool. thanks for the info. lastly you think the devs are gonna fix this, or know of them knowing about this? anyway very clear explanation thanks again

It's a bug in galacticraft or the UE extensions it uses, it'll no doubt be fixed by them soon (they were rushing a fix because a lot of things weren't transferring power at all so that's probably why this happened).

I don't think there's anything the devs here can do about it, unfortunately.
