kensclark15 Posted April 16, 2014 Share Posted April 16, 2014 This has NEVER happened in Windows 7. I have 8GB of RAM, Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit, and Java JDK 8 64 bit. I gave Attack of the B Team 4 GB of RAM and the Task Manager shows that it uses about 4GB. The game runs fine for a few seconds then Windows 8 says I am running low on memory and closes java. The thing is, I did not even once use over 80% of my RAM so I don't know how I could be running low on memory. I had nothing else running except for Spotify which uses onlt 98MB of RAM. Is this a Windows 8.1 issue? It never happened on Windows 7. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Loader Posted April 16, 2014 Share Posted April 16, 2014 There are some oddities both with Win8 and with Java 1.8 (java 1.8 still isn't the recommended version yet). First I'd try removing all the versions of Java you have, then get the latest 64-bit version of 1.7 - start with that. Loader Posted April 16, 2014 Share Posted April 16, 2014 disconsented, it's not an issue with every win8 install (and I have a machine running it without problems), but there are a few things that I've seen with some win8 installations. You're right that it's not technically windows 8 that's the problem (just default settings and overrides for some people). kensclark, I can't offer any more suggestions without logs I'm afraid - could be just about anything.
