today i will talk about what i suspect of modpack futures. as you all know that we all love using technic, ftb, atlauncher, etc. now from hearing about the ftb curse merger im scared of the future. i think curse will sort of take over the whole minecraft community and take technic, ftb, atlauncher, etc. with it. who agrees with me?

This has been long talked about over at the FTB forums. It's a pretty hot topic. As a consumer, you shouldn't worry about it in the sense of ever having to pay to use mod packs. Brian (Kaelten) has been answering questions on this thread over on the FTB forums. Any chance you can expand on what worries you?

I think some, if not all, of the FTB members fart. Sometime before, or during, the merge of Curse. I'm quite sure of this fact.

Who agrees with me?

I can confirm this. I for one, contribute to the gassiness of the community :P

Man, I said before that slowpoke shouldn't fill his pockets off the works of others. I was told I was wrong, that slow wouldn't do that. Well golly gee! I wonder what's happening now! :smug:

I started to lol when it was announced that FTB partnered with Curse, and once it inevitably crashes and burns the couple minutes after it's all finalized, I'll lol even harder. Mostly nobody at FTB listens to what the community wants. Most of their packs are terribly put together, or some are basically the same. Should be quality over quantity, but that's just my opinion.  :colbert:

This topic's been beaten to death anyway. Ugh.

Source!?

Oh, it's not that big of a deal. Minecraft devs are talking about it all the time now, for example in the 14w17a description.

Mods are going to be resource packs. Minecraft has had the capability to load classes from resource packs since 1.6, actually, that's how the forge installer works with the new launcher.

FtB mod packs peaked with the Mindcrack pack, ever since then it's been a steep down hill. Edited by dwwojcik
