Openblocks/LXP problems

I have a world where I've been storing everything in Openblocks Tanks filled with Liquid XP, so incase I died, I don't lose all of it, (And I thought I could use those tanks for stuff that used Mob Essence) however, now I'm nearly unable to get my experience back. I tried hooking the tanks up to all sorts of machines and creations, but the only thing I can do is use buckets to get it out, or use bottles to make bottles of enchanting...but I have so much experience, that this method just simply doesn't work.

I've tried doing everything that I've seen online. Right clicking any tank does nothing, nor does putting an XP shower anywhere. I've tried everything I could, but now I'm at my wits end. I can't do anything with the liquid experience, and I'm incredibly frustrated.

Can anyone help, please? There's gotta be something I'm missing, and I hope you people out there can do so.

The issue is there's openblocks liquid xp and LXP liquid xp in the pack.  The openblocks kind you can get back by right-clicking the tank or using the xp shower, but that doesn't work with the LXP kind.

Your best bet if you've already got some mob essence is to use a unifier with a mob essence bucket to convert it to mob essence.  You can then drink that from a tank with a straw and convert it back when you know you've got the right kind of liquid XP (from the openblocks drain).  You can go straight to the other liquid XP, of course, but I find it easier when struggling with stuff like this to just convert it into something where I know exactly what I have.

Is there nothing else I can do? It's still very tedious putting the buckets in, then pulling them out to put them down and drink them with a straw. And speaking of...why have liquid experience if Openblocks has that functionality anyway? (And it's easier to use and get your experience back.)

Don't use buckets, use the unifier (the bucket just tells the unifier what to convert to) with fluiducts.

The two mods do different things

  1. LXP Liquid XP is like an 'enchantment xp' which you can use for enchanting, removing enchantments etc.
  2. Openblocks Liquid XP is more like a storage system for your own XP. (This is why it's the better option for pulling out of tanks, taking showers in etc.).  This is what you wanted when you used the other kind.

It's annoying that they've got the same name and look very similar.

Not trying to be a pain here, but I really do not understand how the Unifier works, nor can I figure out even from looking it up. Where do I put the mob essence bucket in the Unifier GUI? Here's a picture of my set up.

Thanks for helping.

EDIT: Even with none of the fluiducts being in "Input/output only" mode, it still does not work.

So I have the mob essence bucket in the preference part of the Unifier, and I have a pnuematic servo installed in the fluiduct going from the LXP tank to the Unifier. Still, nothing is happening. Also, I cannot drink from the Mob Essence tank like I was told I could.

Am I using an outdated version or something, or am I just doing something completely wrong?

Not a problem at all Darc_wolf, I wasn't trying to be dismissive, I just hadn't realized where you were having a problem.

Here's the image of the interface in the unifier;

Note that you put the 'target type' bucket into the slot above where it is now, and it'll move down to the bottom slot (where it is in this picture) on its own if it's accepted.

Then set it up like this;

You may need to have the output on the bottom - I'm not sure about that (I've always put it there), but that should be all it takes.  It doesn't need power or anything like that, just the fluid.

Now I'm having one more issue. So there's actually three types of that 'liquid experience' in the mod pack. LXP, Minefactory Reloaded's Mob Essence, and Openblock's XP. I'm guessing when you said I can take the levels/experience out of the tank, it was the XP from Openblock's you meant, because I can't really do anything with the mob essence. Still, it's better than the LXP. So thanks.

Loader, the input/outputs dont matter on what side. I've messed around with the unifier a lot and have found that for liquids, it absolutely does not matter which side the liquid gets it or which side it gets put out. It just needs an in/out.

The mob essence can be drunk using the straw directly from the tank :)

I tried that. Unless there's more than one straw in the pack, right clicking or left clicking would just show the animation of swinging the straw and nothing would happen.

Damn, sorry, I swear that used to work.  That thing it's doing where it swings really fast (rather than hopping up and down) is the bit where it should be drinking.  It doesn't look like it works (the straw) from any of the tanks anymore.

I don't think you can convert to openblocks liquidxp using the unifier, which leaves only crappy options.  I set up a bucket system with a fluid transposer and autonomous activator, so that is an option (it takes some 'calibration' of the number of buckets you put in so you can drink constantly), but it'd be much easier to find another use for the mob essence.

You can still convert openblocks lxp to mob essence through the use of an xp shower and sewer setup though, just not through a unifier. However, to anyone who uses this setup. Use an entity detector next to the sewer and run its detection redstone signal to the shower head! This'll prevent 300+ xp orbs being made if the sewer becomes full. Downside to this? It becomes slightly slower on conversion rate but it will prevent entity lag (which could get you banned on some servers)
