Let's test the next Hexxit! v2.0.1 beta is live!

Everyone, it's time to help test the next version of Hexxit, 2.0.1c beta for Minecraft 1.6.4.

The majority of Hexxit mods have been updated from 1.5.2 to 1.6.4, but unfortunately a few have been lost due to lack of 1.6.4 builds.  These include Asgardian Shield, More Bows, and Legend Gear.  If you find updates to these I'd love to know about it.

However, many new mods are joining the pack!  The current beta has added Ars Magica 2, Ancient Warfare, Better Archery, ButterflyMania, Carpenter's Blocks, Dynamic Lights, FinderCompass, LostBooks, Lycanite's Mobs, MagicYarn, Necromancy, Roguelike Dungeons, and RopesPlus, among others.  The 2.0.1 update adds Antique Atlas and Zelda Sword Skills.

The core Hexxit gameplay remains the same; an emphasis on exploration in vibrant worlds of sprawling ruins, incredible landscapes, and dangerous enemies.  The updated mods offer many new and improved mobs/items/worldgen, and the new mods enhance this experience by adding new structures to explore, new hostile mobs to fight, NPC minions and undead servants of various types, vast underground multi-level dungeons, collectible mobs, and some miscellaneous convenience features.

The 2.0.1c release fixes installation issues with Battletowers and Dynamic Lights, and also udpated Dimension Doors to 2.3.4 build 353, which has some spiffy new features like Personal Dimension Doors (everyone who enters gets their own private dimension, great for private factory/storage space on servers) and lockable doors (with keys to share!)  Carpenter's Blocks has been updated to 3.2.6, and Hexxit Gear 1.0 has been re-added!

Please note that compatibility with the 1.5.2 Hexxit build is uncertain; take backups of your existing worlds before upgrading!

By no means is this the FINAL list of included mods, and there will also be a round of mod updates soon, but for now test it out and let me know what you think!  Please report issues with this beta in this thread.

The server is available here.

To play the new version, select the small gear under the Hexxit pack icon, choose "Manually select a build," and select 2.0.0 from the dropdown menu.

Legend gear gone and starstone :o  nooooo my favorites.

I'm still looking for some suitable replacements; the good news is that all of the mods in this pack either have 1.7.X builds or are actively working on 1.7.x builds, so I don't think Hexxit 3.0 will have any major abandoned mods...

My game tends to crash around spawners in Roguelike Dungeons and it can corrupt a world. Be advised.

I'd like more information on this!

I'd like more information on this!

So what happened was I went down, tried to kill a skeleton that spawned and my client crashed. Restarted the game, tried to destroy the spawner and the game crashed again. I'd love to provide more info, but the save got corrupted and now my world is gone.

Antique Atlas looks really neat. Will it show the dungeons from other mods or only the dungeons that Zelda mod spawns?

It sounds like a restart of my world would be necessary anyway if there's gonna be more worldgen dungeons. I died twice anyway...

I also found this bad boy

The server is not working. When i try to connect to the server, the server console says end of stream and the client shows a screen with messages that Forge Mod Loader has found ID mismatches. from mod BetterDungeons. The ID's are in the 8250 to 8280 range.

Interesting.  Let me check.

I have no issues with a fresh download?

What mod causes this and and what exactly is it? xD

ALSO

How long you expect it to stay in beta before and official release?

That's Ars Magica I believe, adding that little bar.

It'll be in beta for a fair bit.  I have a pretty good list of things to fix still, and there's only around eight mods that need to be updated before there's Forge 1.7.10 support anyway.

I think standard rules apply here, Taters.

You don't ask for an ETA, and the guys don't give you one.

EDIT: Do dynamic lights not work?

Or am I missing the config/options somewhere?

EDIT AGAIN: Yeah, you forgot to unzip the Dynamic Lights mod.

Dear Skuli,

I appeal you to remove qcraft, because it's currently really buggy and pesky on huge servers.
I'd appreciate it, if you'd remove it temporaly from the modpack.

Your sinserly

found sth weird in the config:
there was a"offLawn.cfg" and an "OffLawn.cfg" in windows they were extracted to the same file which means that one of them actually becomes extracted and then overwritten. In Linux they are different files which makes  offlawn having 2 configs. that might be the linux-problem. Pls look out for that.

EDIT: the case-sensitive ist still the problem, even if it doesn't have much to do with the extracting that i assumed. The "OffLawn" is written in capital letters. the mod looks out for a config with an 'o' not in capital. it doesnt find one and creates a config with standart values. Those do the conflict.

EDIT,EDIT: going back to 2.0.0 since it runs far better than the updated version.

I'll look into the offlawn config issue. What's the performance issue with the updated version? Any further information?

I'll admit I haven't played Hexxit for quite a while, but has village generation been turned off for this version?

Or am I just not remembering well enough?

That'll make getting the cutlass a right pain without cheating...
