Let's Test Hexxit for Minecraft 1.7.10!

Hey I did some research for some of the mods that had gone missing!
None of the links are direct Downloadl inks just links to the Forum/Website!
(I'm Sorry for bad pronunciation and stuff, it is not my mother Tong!)


So, you can find legendgear 2, for 1.7.10 here:

Than, i liked the Idea of Arsmagica 2 in Hexxit, like you added id in Beta 2.

So It is Updated to Version 1.7.10 you can find it over there:

I love Thaumcraft also but I understand why it might not be added

There seems to be an issue with Battlegear. It'll get stuck on the dual hand hot bar items and won't sitch out until you die. Not a big deal but still annoying. Also, when u select a carpenter's block it will comestimes turn in to a differant carpenter block.

Just to quote Myself, why not Both Ars Magica2 and Thaumcraft, to gain something complex to learn over the Game, so You have to fight for stuff, craft for stuff and learn for stuff in a new way!

It would give tons and tons of Hours to Learn and new possibilities to Fight or stand against some of the Real evil Mobs! 

But I could understand too if its not possible or wanted, but i would Love! to see it!

thaumcraft is about researching. You know, sitting in your home, doing chores?

 

Hexxit is about exploring and adventuring, daring dark dungeons and fighting big bad bosses.

 

Thaumcraft and Hexxit don't mix well

but nothing prevents you from installing the mod yourself and putting it on the pack

Thanks for the update Skuli and Co.

 

Enjoying the 3.0.0b a lot. It's tough but I think that is part of the fun.

 

Just some advice for anyone playing the beta (esp. on a server, not sure it applies for singleplayer)

I realise some of these have been mentioned here or on tracker.

 

Don't try to put text on tombstones, it crashes server.

Don't look at spawners, they crash the server. (this is also bad for SP)

Don't try to kill enchanted mobs (the mobs that exude coloured bubbles), fighting them will crash the server.

 

While these actions do crash the client and/or server they do not corrupt the world in a way that makes it unplayable

 

Have found this update to be very solid.

We are holding on to Lycanites.  That's my first target for tweaking.  I just noticed EBXL is updated now also, so that and treecapitator is second target.

 

Also, Lycanites added ore elementals of some sort; there's a pretty good chance of a mob spawning when you mine coal/iron/gold/etc. so watch out for that...

 

Those ore elementals suck to a new miner with stone tools... apparently you can spawn a gold elemental from a block of coal ore. That made me dead very fast. 

 

 

I think it might be bspkrscore having a problem with the client, but the console becomes extremely spammy.

I was able to fix it by editing config/bspkrsCore.cfg and editing

 

    B:showMainMenuMobs=true

Also having weird frame rate issues, might be the new chunks generating but I get frame drops pretty often (also have Optifine installed, 2GB RAM allocated).

 

 

Mine often drop down to 0 (hard lock). It generally only lasts for a few seconds to a minute, but it's pretty often.

 

In my case, I think it's ruins.

Hey folks, sorry I disappeared.  Took a nice long camping trip and caught the flu.

 

Waila will be updated shortly.

 

Zulu horses will be removed asap.

 

Battle towers has an invalid template that causes the "ghost" tower.

 

Most of those mods are already being tested locally, I hope to have a nice big update soon.

THe spawner crash will be fixed, and the enchanted mobs will probably be disabled for now.

I used to love Hexxit, but not anymore. Almost all of what has been added I hate, and I miss nearly everything that was taken away. Hexxit used to have a perfect balance of the simplicity of vanilla Minecraft, between the complexity of Tekkit. That's what drew me to it so quickly, it wasn't too complex, and it held adventure and dungeoneering above all! Now, I'm saddened at the directions the game has taken.

 

In my opinion, 2.0.0 and beyond has done nothing but spit on what was once an amazing modpack. When I saw Hexxit had finally updated, I was exuberant to say the least. However, my heart sank after I was exploring the new content on creative mode.

 

Mobs that don't even look like they belong in Minecraft, (Lycanites mobs) not to mention these mobs spawn in juxtaposed areas, like demon mobs in a castle fort?

 

Zelda Sword Skills nearly made me cry. What a horrible addition for Hexxit.

 

And why? Why take out Legend Gear, More Bows! Immibis Microblocks, and Asgard Shields?

 

I could write a five page paper on how Hexxit has destroyed itself in 2.0.0 and beyond. You'll never catch me playing any of those updates. It's 1.0.10 for me til I die. It'll be a sad day when any update past 1.0.10 is 'recommended'. If this post gets anyone's attention, and you would like to know more of why I think Hexxit has gone way downhill, let me know. Otherwise, I'll stop here before I make way too long of a post.

 

However, I will say some things that are good additions... Dynamic Lights, updating the Bibliocraft mod, RopesPlus, Better Archery is nice, and Ancient Warfare(maybe, seemed kind of buggy to me) Those are some great additions. But almost everything else sickens me, and everything that was taken away makes me sad.

 

I know I'm only one guy, but I fell in love with Hexxit once. Now, it has stabbed me in the back. Unless some serious changes happen, I'll only play 1.0.10

The majority of Hexxit mods have been updated from 1.5.2 to 1.7.10, but unfortunately a few have been lost due to lack of 1.6.4/1.7.10 builds.  These include Asgardian Shield, More Bows, and Legend Gear.  If you find updates to these I'd love to know about it.

Keep an eye on the 3.0 builds, that's where the pending changes are going to happen.

 

I would like to clear up an area where you seem to be confused:  I dropped LegendGear, More Bows!, Asgard Shields, and many a few others because they didn't exist for Minecraft 1.6.4/1.7.X.  Some may see updates for 1.7 and be re-added during the beta, like Legendgear and ExtraBiomesXL have been, but my hands are tied in that respect.  I mean, I can't really make a 1.5.2 mod work in 1.7.10, as much as I wish I could.

 

IF it makes you feel any better, Zelda Sword Skills is out in the next major update now that Legendgear has been updated; since there was no updated Legendgear until fairly recently, I stuck ZSS in to try to fill the Magic Boomerang/heart container gap, but it adds too much stuff I have no interest in, and is a MASSIVE memory hog. 

 

Lycanites' Mobs is still being evaluated, to be honest.  I'm doing the serious behind-the-scenes stuff now, like altering spawn rates and biomes, the hard boring stuff.  I enjoy the additional difficulty this mod adds, but I agree the overland spawns just feel weird and out of place.  It could be relegated to underground mobs and nether, we'll see.  I really don't like the ore mobs, they are just too much for new players.

 

I think you misunderstand the purpose of Ancient Warfare; it's far more an NPC-based automation mod than any sort of pvp thing.  The thought of having Buildcraft, Forestry, or Thermal Expansion in Hexxit makes my skin crawl, but with Ancient Warfare you can have a couple of NPC couriers running around carrying ore from your storage chest to your furnace, and carrying ingots back, or sorting your loot into their massive warehouse structure, while having to manage your NPC guards to keep the monsters from slaughtering all your helpless citizens.  It's been a lot of fun in my experience, and delightfully complicated, I'd recommend looking more closely at it...

 

In any event, I'd keep in mind that this is beta, and still EARLY beta at that!  Also, you're more than welcome to stick with 1.5.2 Hexxit in the meantime, or forever, if that's the build you like, it won't hurt my feelings at all!

I believe Tinker's Construct is already in, isn't it?  Ars Magica 2 is out; Mithion is retiring from modding and that mod is a ridiculous memory hog, like Zelda Sword Skills.

 

Also, AtomicStyker fixed the Infernal Mobs lockup, there will be a small bugfix out for this and the Waila version problem.

Awww, but with the combination of ZSS heart pieces and Tinker's Construct's heart containers, with enough time spent, you can have up to a maximum of fifty hearts in survival... 50!

No more Ars Magica 2? Awww, too bad, it is such a cool mod, so many possibilities. And how is it a memory hog? (whats a memory hog in MC in general? :P)
