  1. Version 1.1.3 is available for testing now.

This is a TEST release; please back up your worlds and/or servers before upgrading to this version!

You will receive an error when loading your old world that the following blocks/items could not be found:

    Railcraft:cart.energy.cesu
    IC2:activeLuminator
    IC2:activeLuminator
    IC2:item.null

These items will be replaced with AIR when your old world is loaded.  This is unavoidable.

You can select test/non-recommended builds by selecting "Modpack Options" on the main Tekkit Legends page in the official launcher.  Choose "A Specific Version" from the Modpack Options dialog, find 1.1.3 in the drop-down text box, and then click the "Reinstall Pack" button.  Close Modpack Options dialog, and then click "Install", and then finally "Play" once the update is complete.

Again, BACK UP YOUR CURRENT WORLDS AND SERVERS BEFORE UPDATING TO THIS TEST RELEASE!

The updated mod list is currently:

    AsieLib-1.7.10-0.4.5.jar
    Carpenter's Blocks v3.3.8_dev_r8 - MC 1.7.10.jar
    CoFHCore-[1.7.10]3.1.2-325.jar
    Computronics-1.7.10-1.6.0.jar
    forestry_1.7.10-3.6.12.3.jar
    IC2.Classic.Version.1.2.0.1.jar
    logisticspipes-0.9.3.83.jar
    ModularPowersuits-0.11.0.300.jar
    ProjectE-1.7.10-PE1.9.5.jar
    QuiverBow_1.7.10_b101d.zip
    Railcraft_1.7.10-9.10.0.0.jar
    RedstoneArsenal-[1.7.10]1.1.2-92.jar

The server will be available here.

  2. I'm going to lock this thread.  My Hexxit beta build has long been superseded by the pack Iskandar as put together, and this thread serves little purpose now.

Feel free to play the currently available 1.7.10 beta that I put together, but know that it's a dead-end.  Likewise feel free to discuss any topics from this thread in the main Hexxit if need be, lest this be interpreted as some sort of censorship.

A new beta thread will be created once public testing is again opened for the new builds.

  3. Yes, I turned in my notice to Technic team a week or so ago.  I don't have the time to do what the packs need, so I have tossed in the towel and they've found another guy to take the reigns.

I have no idea where he's going with his Hexxit, but he's got some impressive credentials, so let's hope for the best!

  4. I don't plan for it to be as hardcore as it currently is. Currently my aim for the beta is to test for crashes/mod compatibility, which has surprisingly not been a major issue. Having been playing this with my kids for several weeks, I'm pretty aware that the difficulty is much higher than typically you see, we're having a hard time even staying stocked with basics like iron ingots!

Also, screw those flying Lycanite's mobs that spawn when it rains, and those little afrit things that spawn in lava. I hate those SO MUCH I cannot adequately describe it without inventing new words.

One thing I'm noticing is that for whatever reason, armor durability seems to be severely lowered or damage to armor is severely increased, and I can't figure out why. I'm lucky if a suit of iron armor lasts even a full minecraft day currently.

  5. My friends and I have encountered a bunch of other issues with this 3.0.0c beta release after playing for several days.

    - What we have dubbed the "Concapede invasion".  Not sure what the trigger is, there's no errors per se but every now and then, there's a huge amount of non-stop concapedes spawning around our little home made town.  The first time I had to use /cofh killall concapede to get the server from lagging (it removed 4909 concapedes).  Since then, it's happened 4-5 times where I've had to killall.

    - Speaking of Concapedes, dual wielding against them and hitting with your offhand makes the client crash

    - On the topic of dual wielding, there's something wrong with the option to move from the regular bar to dual-wielding and back.  Sometimes, you have to mash R repeatedly to get back to the normal bar.

    - Quantum computer created on the client side made the server crash last night (sorry no logs)

    - COFH mineral generation isn't working (as discovered above...)

    - Disabled the butterfly mod because it was throwing an exception here and there.

I've noticed several mods have gotten updates to them for 1.7.10.  Plan is to review the changes and see if I can't manually update some of them to correct these issues.

Concapede invasion: Are you running MCPC+/Cauldron? Dual-wielding currently conflicts with the InventoryTweaks hotkey and one other mod; you can re-map the hotkeys or disable it completely to resolve the issue.

  6. I finally got around to updating and I found the problem. CoFH core generation is not working because the config is not set. What your looking at in the World.cfg is just a guideline that doesn't actually affect anything. The values in the vanilla.cfg file are still set to their defaults. That's the one that needs changing.

I'm not entirely sure what the problem really is here; I've been playing Hexxit beta for many, many hours and I've collected plenty of ingots of all types and varieties?

  7. To Version C,

Runs smother than before, with some lags here and there.

    But,

    - Still got crashes while looking on spawners.

    - Sometimes Freezes for around ten to 30 Seconds randomly while world Generation

But i Love it, never died that much in the first Days :D

The freezing is due to objects generating in-game, like better dungeons and roguelike dungeons.  I can't really do anything about that.

  8. New update! I like the additions! And the subtractions!Still having issues with equipping TC stuff, although fiddling with that command you gave me works eventually.

    Now: New bugs:

I've chosen the Miner class from LevelUp, and when I dig anything, it digs ridiculously fast and degrades my shovel quicker than it should.

yeah, I already saw that reported in GotoLink's post, hopefully that'll have a fix soon.

  9. That is so weird. I managed to sort of fix it last night, for a tiny bit. I completely deleted the .technic file, and relaunched it from scratch, and created a brand new world, so there was no connection at all to anything I had done, and it still didn't work. I then gave up and copied back in the world we had been playing on, and it worked! I was able to equip TC gear in the BG slots! Then I accidentally crashed the server by attacking a special mob, and it stopped working :( Is there anything I can do to help debug/diagnose this?

Also, look at the "weaponwield" command, it seems to have been added specifically to address this issue; I was able to equip a broadsword by highlighting it in my hotbar and then typing "/weaponwield right".

    *edit*

Ah, MB2 seems to not allow weapons with a special right-click ability to dual-wield, which seems to be the issue here.

    */edit*

  10. That is so weird. I managed to sort of fix it last night, for a tiny bit. Yeah, the infernal mob bug is fixed in an update, working on a new beta as we speak.

  11. Was there an update last night? I've completely wiped my technic install, reinstalled hexxit, and created a new world, and I still can't put TC items in the BG slots. I suspect something was updated, and caused an issue between the two mods.

Edit: Just did some testing. Daggers, Longswords, Battleaxes, and Shortbows from TC can be equipped in the BG slots. Nothing else can be. Before the end of last night, they could.

    No updates last night.

  12. Apologies if I sounded whiny, I'm just saying I don't like a lot of what has happened to Hexxit. I appreciate you, and I appreciate Skuli for filling me in on missing details and things that I don't understand.

But am I getting this right? Legend Gear has been updated and ZSS is being taken out? If that is so, my only very large complaint left is Lycanites Mobs. Even though a few of the other additions make me feel uneasy, ZSS and Lycanites Mobs are my two main complaints.

Again, sorry for sounding so butthurt, thanks to you both for responding, I really appreciate it. If at all possible, please return at least Asgard Shields and Immibis Microblocks. Those are both wonderful mods that really compliment Hexxit.

Thanks again guys, and I'll keep an eye on 3.0 builds as you say Skuli.

P.S. Skuli.. that name sounds familiar. Didn't you moderate The Mining Dead? I played that for a while. You're alright Skuli :P

Asgard Shield won't be updated until 1.8, according to the minecraftforum link. Mine and Blade has been added, which is quite a lot of fun in a similar vein.

I also didn't realize Immibis was not added to the betas, I'll rectify that with the next update! I have a few more of the old mods to add, like offlawn and hexxitgear that need to be pushed also.

And yes, The Mining Dead was my server that I started in 2011, glad you liked it! Hope the zombies didn't kill you too much!

  13. the other issue is ever since that DCMA was sent out to anyone using the bukkit api...

MCPC+ and Cauldron have both been shut down.

Basically, (as far as I can find) theres now cross compatibility know for for server wanting to run mods and plugins. Its either MODS, or you run PLUGINS

but, if you run a modded server, you need protections...but...there currently on Protection mods..soooooo

leaves a lot of us on Technic who want to open up a server.. up a paddle.. or forced to go to server hosts that will still offer or have

Cauldron for 1.7.10 or MCPC+ .  I know theres a few host services out there that will open a server up with cauldron or MCPC+ pre-installed for you.

but Im not sure on the legality of that. since no one is supposed to be distributing those API's anymore? It may land you in a lot of HOT WATER down the road.

    Sucks.

    Cauldron is back and legal.
