If you're running Windows 7, there are likely to be backups (right-click on folder, click Find Previous Versions).  Otherwise, you can try getting an NBT Editor and removing the item from your inventory from outside the game.

None of those sentences made any logical sense, except maybe the first one, which is correct.  "Collective monologue" is an oxymoron.  Regardless, I wasn't trying to start a dialogue.  I was telling you how to operate on the forums, if you would like to remain here long-term.  Your responses and the attitude behind them indicated that you might not have understood.  If you are polite and respectful, you'll go a long way here.  If you are arrogant and entitled, you won't.

Posting server info is precisely about garnering popularity.  Why else would you make a server post?  I have a private server I share with 3 or 4 regulars and a couple people that get on occasionally.  I don't put up a public post about it because I don't want other people on it.
 
Your modpack thread is also about garnering popularity, whether you wish to admit it or not.  You even said it was.
 
 
The Global Rules don't need edited to include a note to put threads/posts in the right place.  That's common sense for forum posting.  It could also be covered in the off-topic, low-effort (not bothering to locate the correct board), or Golden-Rule parts.
 
 
 
Those other avenues you speak of, and all the quotation marks?  They're not impressing anyone.  Neither is the fake apology, or the fake concern for the effort we go through to keep the forums clean and easy to use.  For future reference, if someone with some authority is telling you, legitimately, that's it's best to act a certain way, hinting at going over their head to do what you want anyway and being sarcastic in responses to the request is generally considered bad form.

If you'd like to see heavy-handed, power-tripping moderation, please continue with the mod sass.  I'm simply enforcing the forum rules on server posting.  They should have their own thread, in the right section, with the right format to the posting guidelines.  All that stuff makes our lives easier, and your life on the forums longer.
 
The place for Custom modpack servers is here, not in the modpack thread.  I'd think you'd want people using your modpack to put their server ads where people will actually see them, instead of burying them in a 10-page thread.

If those are your only memory options, the launcher's looking at your 32-bit Java version.  I would do as CZ suggests.

Googling it would be easier.  See, you didn't give your OS, system architecture (32- or 64-bit), Java version you want to use, or any other useful information.

This thread is reserved for people looking for one or two other people to play privately with. It's strictly for small scale private games, so no more than 4 people, including the host. Anyone found using this thread to circumvent our moderation queue for server posts will be humiliated and flamed, then banned. The order of those actions may change.

Don't post here a dozen times telling different people you'll play with them. If you're looking for that kind of gameplay, go to the server section and find one.

After you have secured your contingent of people to play with, at the mods' discretion your post(s) may be deleted. On that note, people caught bumping this thread because they're "still looking for other people" will be subjected to the same treatment as those attempting to use this for larger server posts. Feel free to edit your post, but don't keep adding more posts.

Finally, we recommend stating your basic info in your recruitment thread. That includes especially the following:
- Number of people desired
- Active time zone and times
- Activity level (hours/day or week usually active)
- Any inactive mods/items you may have

Let me help you with that wall of text.
Technic was a single-player mod pack.  Since 1.3, single player is pointless. Tekkit Lite has several mods that never got updated, so development was discontinued, and it has stayed at 1.5.2 Forestry will never be added back into a mod pack made by the Technic team.  However, there are plenty of packs on the platform that have it. You repeat yourself a lot.  It's not helpful in getting your point across when your paragraph is twice as long as it needs to be, and you have no coherent organization of your ideas. None of the stuff you suggest will happen.  The Technic Launcher is not dead, and probably won't be for a long time.

I can't rename the tab, but otherwise...done.
