Someone REALLY doesn't like change. Or grammar. Since when are people running off in droves to join the FTB fan club? FTB has literally nothing on Technic. They have some (poorly made) modpacks and a .. second rate launcher in comparison. They do not have Solder. And they don't have any of the other amazing technology that the Technic team has in store. The mods and modpacks that are a part of this community != the sum total of Technic and its future. Technic is a platform, a launcher; a system designed to bring amazing things to the public in a unique and interesting way that makes it much easier for the people behind the scenes and the end users. If you don't like the modpacks that they put together, seriously, get over it and make your own exactly how you want it to be! That is the power that they give you, and for free. In summation, Technic isn't going to "Fall" as you say. They aren't making a grand display as a last move to save themselves from collapse. They are making progress and forging a new way into the future with even more cool things. If you don't have anything constructive to say, sometimes it's best not to say anything.

He didn't feel like playing mine craft any more. Technically he didn't need to stay, but his dev team hasn't done a good job.
The developer didn't like technic, so he added some code that corrupted worlds if forestry detected that it was part of Technic or Tekkit. Sengir has since taken the code out and apologized, but I guess somebody at technic holds a grudge.

This is probably not going to happen. The Technic modpack was a great pack but to try and recreate it would be a disaster. The modding community is completely different now than it was back then. We would not be able to live up to the incredulous expectations you have.
 
 
That is you opinion, IC2 is currently a broken mod with no direction. We re-created Tekkit and provided you guys with Tekkit Lite since it was so popular. If you dont like the new one, go play the old one. 
 
 
This would not be possible due to significant coding changes to the launcher that would prolong development. 
 
 
I hardly believe this statement because it is simply not true. The traffic we have received from out last modpack launch (Attack of the B-Team) and the steady installs/run statistics show that Technic is growing in a healthy upward trend. 
 
 
The Technic Launcher has not lost its meaning. It has grown past what you have come to see it as. Technic was a launcher for a modpack. Technic is now a leader in providing users with Technic-created and User-created modpacks. The Platform is proof of that. We are not just making a flashier launcher. We are developing a reliable SaaP (Service as a Platform) that gives the users more control in developing there own experience, not just how we define it. With the type of feedback we have received so far, it seems the general opinion is excitement and eagerness. I hope you will come to like and support what Technic has become and what it will be.

Oddly enough, your friends responded to unwelcome change by voluntarily changing even more. Weird.

The Technic Launcher is by no means dead or dying, anywhere except among your circle of friends. Have you even seen the Platform? There are almost forty thousand public modpacks on the Platform, plus who knows how many private packs. Attack of the B-Team drove FOUR TIMES the traffic that Technic staff planned for.
 
As for your complaints about Tekkit's mod list, Technic dropped IC2 because after 1.4 Alblaka vanished, leaving the future of the mod in jeopardy. As it turned out, the Technic team were more or less right. IC2 experimental currently says it's "unstable, may break worlds" (read: not suitable for modpacks) at the top of its download page, and IC2-legacy has seen a total of two commits since July 2013 and at latest runs on Minecraft 1.6.2. You also suggest substituting EE3 for EE2 and Project Red for Redpower, which Tekkit currently does.
 
Tekkit won't have Forestry because the author of Forestry attacked Technic users' worlds, and it won't have Thaumcraft because it's both a very intrusive mod if you don't want to play it (see: taint) and Tekkit is a tech pack, not a magic pack. If those mods are what you're looking for, Feed the Beast's packs might be more up your alley. The Technic team can't cater to everyone's modpack desires, though, so that's what Platform is for.
 
Voxel got their own launcher solution, so use it if you really want their pack. Technic SSP was useful when there were mods that couldn't run on multiplayer, but that ended with 1.4, so the team retired it. (If you really want, there are four or so on the Platform. That little search box really helps.)

Probably are losing players to the Ftb Launcher,  But then again they don't have stable modpacks usually. Their voltz version sucks.

Let me help you with that wall of text.
Technic was a single-player mod pack.  Since 1.3, single player is pointless. Tekkit Lite has several mods that never got updated, so development was discontinued, and it has stayed at 1.5.2 Forestry will never be added back into a mod pack made by the Technic team.  However, there are plenty of packs on the platform that have it. You repeat yourself a lot.  It's not helpful in getting your point across when your paragraph is twice as long as it needs to be, and you have no coherent organization of your ideas. None of the stuff you suggest will happen.  The Technic Launcher is not dead, and probably won't be for a long time.

We have addressed this in the new Platform. We will go over it in detail during the stream.

I was going to wait until the stream to ask about this, but maybe it's worth saying now. Is it possible to differentiate server specific packs from other mod packs? My pack is designed specifically for a single server and I know there are a lot of other packs just like that. Maybe making some check boxes for pack makers to define their set up could ease in categorizing packs and make searching simpler for users in the long run. Everyone is looking for something different. Some people want to play something cool by themselves or find a fun pack that they can use to make a server on their own. And in the case of my pack, it already comes with the server and you just need to download and log in. Separating these categories could also help make different types of packs with higher quality more visible that might fall under the radar because their scope isn't as grand as some of the more popular packs. Just some thoughts.

We (and our users at Akliz) are excited about the new features.  One person raves about using Solder and the Platform for his custom mod pack.  Can't wait to hear more about the new developments in detail!

Any games with mods are a good fit for us. Idunno that we're planning on being like the Nexus per se. Our trump card is our technological superiority, automating stuff, etc, which sets us apart from every company operating on user-created content. So many games have great stuff made by the community, but a really tiny portion of the community actually enjoying that stuff, because of the difficulties of putting together an install that uses that content. In Minecraft, 40%(?) of the community is enjoying Forge mods on a regular, active basis. That's unheard of! It's not just us making that happen, of course, there are tons of other launchers and stuff like Multicraft and the Magic Launcher have been around forever. But the point is that Minecraft doesn't just have a community producing great content, we have a community producing better ways to enjoy that content, and that's very unusual. A lot of game communities could benefit from the sort of tech we produce.

Our future tech architecture will have the idea of non-minecraft games in mind, but we don't want to talk about what games or what sort of games we have our eye on, because we're not just some dudes in an IRC channel anymore, and new business thangs take time and discussion. Just know that this new launcher and platform are just the beginning- we want to bring the enjoyment you get from us to everyone.

I've just built a tool which makes adding mods to Solder so much easier, You have a directory with all of the mods in one folder, It adds each mod to solder and creates a directory which contains a directory for each mod, you upload all of the directory's into the Solder mod folder and double tap enter and it will automatically create a mod version on Solder for that zip file.
 

 
It's not perfect but I just did 160 mods at once with it and it worked flawlessly.

I'd recommend reading the help on the GitHub as you want to get this right the first time else it might create a mess of your mods on Solder.

So I just gave this server a try. I gotta say the amount of work put into it by Dark_Arcana is just ridiculous and simply amazing. If you like RPG and if you like modded minecraft this is a great place to play, and from what he has planned it will be getting even better.
 
Will be posting some screenshots of some buildings and places on this server later on. Hope to see more people join in because it will be even more fun playing with a lot of other people!
