If you ever wanted a modpack where you cant get endgame items in a week or two or a pack that presents a very real and difficult challenge for you to survive in, then consider trying the STH Gaming Evo Modpack. It is extremely hard, and I guarantee you will die. If you don't, well, you have set some sort of improbable record! The pack enforces you to dedicate at least 2gbs of RAM (Or else you'll crash), but we recommend 4gbs as that tends to be the sweet spot. The technic page for the modpack contains some helpful guidelines for getting started in game because it can be very hard even for the most experienced modded players.

DawnFire Realms offers serious, mature roleplay survival in a credible dark fantasy world inspired by the lore of Fall from Heaven II.
After many years of serving our community with vanilla servers, we now announce the launch of a modded server world:
Austeros

We have launched open Beta on: Friday September 25th, 21:00 CEST / 15:00 CET.

- Austeros runs on 1.7.10 MC and requires a Forge modded client and our core modpack. We support this with TechnicLauncher and two modpack versions: one core and one extended modpack, with grpahical mods that are not necessarily required to play but greatly improve the gameplay experience.
We have carefully selected and configured our mods and generated Austeros using the ClimateControl mod to a world sized 40k*40k. This is what we prepare for you, the DFR community:
- Selected mods match the theme and lore of Fall from Heaven II, the lore we also use for our vanilla server worlds. The main mods focus on magic and ingenuity:
Thaumcraft 4, Witchery and Tinkers' Construct.
- Roleplay and PvE are our main objectives in this immense, multi-featured world. PvP isn't. Players can freely decide whether they wish their character to engage in PvP or not.
- Austeros is a 'dawn' world themed as a magical world somewhere in Ceridwen's indefinite vault, in between dream and reality, where the 'dreamers' (= players) are in control of their characters immortal lives.
- Three roleplay starting towns to encourage roleplay from the very start. These are characterized by character alignment on the 'Organization scale': Lawful - Organic - Chaotic. The three towns are called Vedfolnir, Ostara and Nidhogg respectively.
- Themes and styles of starting towns are rather unique for medieval fantasy MC worlds, see pictures in the second post!

- A carefully selected plugin set, in-line with the plugin set we use for our vanilla servers. Some of the main plugins: Towny, LWC, GriefPrevention, SignShop, ArmorWeight, Hydrate and DeathControl.
- Character development to enhance the RP-PVE and RPG experience is supported with racial traits of 11 (!) races, defined using RaC + MCMMO permissions, many of our mods special features and ... of course, through roleplay.
- Player loyalty and support (playtime and voting) is rewarded through a trusted rank system using AutoRank and a little in-game cash. Donators are rewarded similarly, plus they are allowed access to additional races for their characters to roleplay.

DawnFire Realms servers have already been up for over 4 years and served thousands of enthusiastic community members worldwide. Our highly customized vanilla world Somnium_Beta is still running today and still home to many of our members. We offer a decent roleplayer base, experienced staff, a lore unique for MineCraft MPS, vanilla and modded gameplay enviroments based on carefully selected and tuned plugins and mods, dedicated custom plugins and, most of all, an energizing and very inspiring community of mature players focussed on realistic immersive roleplay survival.
We are always looking to strengthen our staff team. If you feel you could add to DawnFire Realms, either apply for a position as Aide (builder) or send a pm to a Seraph in case you're interested in helping out with coding, graphics and/or our wiki.
Playing on our vanilla world Somnium doesn't require a whitelist application. If you prefer playing there, don't hesitate to do so. More info can be found here and on our website.

The Praetor of Vednolfir, the honorbale Aela Milanthril, organized a welcoming banquet for all Souls that appeared on Austeros. Many of the lawful inhabitants of Vednolfir attended, and both the Ostari and Nidhoggi sent a serious delegation to represent their people and get acquainted to the folks in the other colonies. Here's a few screenshots of the aftermath.

We disabled DeathControl as it appeared insufficiently compatible. We replaced it with a combination of tricks that still makes a character respawn in Trenton Memorial Hospital after a knockout, ensures hospitalization costs are charged for character, town and nation, all inventory (inlcuding mod slots!), is kept, and that experience orbs are partially lost. To reduce the potentila experience loss of a knockout, players with Baron and/or a Donator rank are granted the ability to store experience orbs in a bottle, at a small price.

Added Armourer's Workshop mod to both our core and graphics+ modpacks. This enables staff to create custom, detailed skins for weapons and armour. It's intended to spice up lore related items and events.

We introduced 7 new races on Austeros, all based on Fall from Heaven II lore.
Players can now define Peredhil (half-elf), Halfling and Goblin characters when they achieved Viscount rank.
Donators can play as Centaurs, Ormen (lizard-men), Shades or even as a mythical Aifon (merfolk).

Important Update for all members of the server.
This server is hard, this server is very hard. (Not as hard as the Hardcore Mode Ones) In light of this server's difficulty, I have given all players of rank "Member" the ability to warp and set warp points as well as home locations and the ability to warp back home. I have also added in access to the /back command so you can return to your death point. Use /help in game to see a list of commands made available to members.

Prayer of Relief Update (Server Side) (mainly effective on Magical Divination Server, as it adds a "favor" system in which you pray to the gods of Tamrien for relief and it forces you to balance your favor with the gods to reap benefits to further you in your journey)
Client Updates
- Hopefully further resolved the supposed crash relating to ChocolateQuest like in the previous version (I have yet to receive any crash reports so it seems to be working fine.)
- Updated the Modpacks help page to show what is recommended to run this pack
- Updated the config files yet again to add more loot to the randomly generated dungeons
- Updated the config files to remove old configs no longer in use as well as have some mods generate new ones
- Removed remnants of Ropes+ items that potentially could have caused some errors client side (mainly a server fix)
- Updated the Meteor Configs to adjust radius that meteors will fall from players as well as disabled meteors getting the ability to create Nether Portals
- Changed EnviroMine configs to disable Sanity and BodyTemperature (they simply didn't play nice with the fire mobs). For those that want it re-enabled you can make the change in your config file.
- Changed EnviroMine food rot time to be 31 days as opposed to 7 (server side)
- Added in the faction system for Prayer of Relief. This initial update puts the placeholder in for Single Player. Those that play on the server will receive updates to the QuestBook without having to download new versions of the client, simply logging into the server will auto-update your quest book. (unfortunately users who are Single Player only can only do the first tier of Prayer of Relief Quests but will need to download the next version of the client once it is available to get the remaining Tiers from the Prayer of Relief event this weekend. This is not to punish or promote the SMP server.) This is simply the most efficient way to do it without having to spam bump my topic/pack with tiny updates that simply change the configs. I try to reserve topic bumps specifically for large updates or important ones.
- Botania configs slightly altered to set using alternate textures to false. I turned this on accidentally in the hotfix updates
- Battlegear2 GUI bar for the quiver has been adjusted. Now it will properly appear on the screen when you switch to your bow weapon.
- Changed starting quest that introduces combat to give you a Deku Shield instead of the Wooden One because I like Legend of Zelda.
- Adjusted quest repeatability rates to better balance out the Prayer of Relief faction system.

I updated the pack to 1.1.1a
- 1.1.1 - removed Ropes+ as it was causing some imbalances with Battlegear2, basically rendering BattleGear2's arrows useless.

I have added both of you to the whitelist. Please keep in mind that this server is still growing and if you know people who may be interested point them in the direction of this thread. I reiterate that this server's rules are simple:

This server uses the GriefPrevention Plugin, so anyone who joins the server will be able to claim a plot of land (limited by player) to build and create. The server is not your average server. The server is difficult. More quests will be added in later this week.

As to answer your questions - yes I do take suggestions and requests however I would do some serious testing before I implement it into the modpack. The plugins the server uses currently are Hyperconomy so you can purchase stuff from the servers Webstore (to buy some survival materials for in game currency), grief prevention, and various utility plugins. I do plan to have the server grow hopefully. It is still in the infant stages.

Alrighty, I have added you to the Whitelist. Please keep in mind this is a brand new server and I am looking to grow it. So if you have responsible friends or family that you may like to bring onto the server (this goes for anyone reading this that has been whitelisted) please direct them to this post. Enjoy the server. 

The server has been updated and is running 1.1.0 - Bloodthorn of the Magical Divination Pack. The server has also had the GriefPrevention Plugin slightly modified and a new additional mod that will generate Random Walled Cities, Towns, and other structures around the map in addition to the already randomly generated Dungeons and Epic Ruins for exploration and loot.

I wasn't going to post this today as there was an update yesterday however this update is too large to hold back as it does resolve some game-play issues. Sorry to those of you that just updated the pack yesterday and now have to update again.
