Go post in the Tracker for help. Assuming you are using the technic launcher downloaded from this site, and not some other program.

Kalbintion reacted to CanVox in Let's Test B-Team 1.0.12a!
    Hey, everyone,

Attack of the B-Team 1.0.12a is now promoted to latest! I promise that I am gonna stay on top of this one and promote it to rec, assuming nothing serious is wrong.

If you're interested in helping test, back up your worlds (SSP or server) and set your launcher up to use the "Latest" build, or manually select version 1.0.12a. Play with us and report issues in this thread!

The 1.0.12a server can be downloaded here: mirror.technicpack.net/Technic/servers/bteam/BTeam_Server_v1.0.12a.zip

Changelog for Attack of the B-Team 1.0.12a; this is a list of all changes since 1.0.11a:

    - Village spawns have been disabled in order to bypass a chunk-corruption issue with Biomes o' Plenty.
    - OpenEye version 0.6 has been added.

Kalbintion got a reaction from IDED in AotBT and Optifine - Graphical Oddities
When using Optifine with the modpack, it seems to interfere with some of the textures loading and ignores them if they failed to load, relaunching the game as well as messing with settings can force the textures to attempt to reload, but there doesn't seem to be a long term solution or a more permanent reason on why it is happening to begin with outside of it having a conflict with another mod.

Kalbintion reacted to IDED in How do i craft the armor and other things in flans mod
So I'd be right then as there's no way to get it playing legit, of course if you have access to creative then as above you can spawn it in, but then doesn't that defeat the point of playing if you going to cheat.
But based on the above you can get anything in any flans pack as all you have to do is install the mods and hey presto but then you wont really be playing atobt.

Still the question was how do I craft... and the answer is you cant as its not implemented in atobt.

Kalbintion got a reaction from arriej in Most common issues and fixes! And known problems
Hey arriej, another issue I have found commonly showing up lately is a structure spawning issue. The lines to be looked for are:
    java.lang.NullPointerException at net.minecraft.world.gen.structure.StructureStart.func_75068_a(StructureStart.java:47) at net.minecraft.world.gen.structure.MapGenStructure.func_75051_a(MapGenStructure.java:81) And the fix I found isn't simple, I have it all explained @ http://forums.technicpack.net/tracker/issue-2010-connectionarea-crashes-server/

Also, another issue I have seen semi-frequently is an issue related to mobs not spawning. The issue is the mob cap is being hit, and this can be solved by /cofh killall (or setting difficulty to peaceful briefly so hostile mobs despawn)

Please note that every PC is different and a fix stated here may not be the fix for you. The fixes here are fixes that worked for me and my friends or get reported to me as a fix.

This topic  Its a work in progress and i will keep adding more fixes on the way.

    Let's get started!!

    Issue: Out Of memory.
Cause: This is caused because there is not enough memory allocated to the launcher.
Fix: To fix this issue you need to allocate more memory to your launcher. Its recommended to have at least 1,5/2GB for this modpack. Make sure you do not go over 4 GB, java starts running slower and may crash. How to add more RAM: Click on the cog at the top right on the launcher.

Issue: Can't add more then 1GB of RAM to the launcher.
Cause: 1.) Not a 64Bit java installed (Or having an older version of 32Bit installed)
2.) Not enough RAM in your PC.
Fix: 1.) Install a 64 bit version of java (http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp ).Or uninstall the 32Bit version.
2.) Upgrade your PC with more RAM.

    Issue: Mod pack wont update/download.
Cause: Most of the time a anti-virus software blocking the download
Fix: 1.) Update you java to the most recent version.
2.)Make sure no (parental) software if blocking the download (Virus scanner/Net nanny)
           3.) Keep trying.

Issue: Failed to download <some file>
Cause: Security software, internet connection interruption
Fix: Disable security software temporarily, if it works, add the base url to exceptions (http://resources.download.minecraft.net/0f/0f for example has a base url of minecraft.net)
    (Thanks to  kalbintion)

Issue: Game wont update past 1.0.8
Cause: Outdated java.(Some mods don't support the older java versions)
Fix: Update java and make sure you get the right version (64 or 32 Bit) and you delete all old version of java. (If the client can chose between and up-to-date 32 bit version of an outdated 64 bit version it will take the 64 bit one.
    (Thanks to: ArabicSnowman)

      Issue: No mobs spawning
    Cause: Mob limit hit.
Fix: this can be solved by typing the command /cofh killall Or change your difficulty to peaceful briefly so hostile mobs despawn.
    (Thanks to  kalbintion)

    Issue:  IndexOutOfBoundsException Error
Cause:  Related to a Config being corrupt issue.
    Fix: Resetting the modpack.

    Issue: Crash on mojang screen.
Cause: Various causes know. (Can basically be anything) 1.) Outdated java
2.) Fail in mapwriter config. (check how to read a error log down here)
Fix: I am naming some different fixes here. If this did not work for you make a issue on the issue tracker don't forget to add the log ( %appdata%/.technic/logs )
    1.) Update java. ( http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp ).
2.) Go to the location of the mapwriter you find in the error log. and delete the file (make a backup)
3.)There are many reason this could happen.  try to reset the modpack (You will lose custom settings)
4.) if that did not help make an issue repport here And include an errorlog

Issue: Server/Client crashes when you joins a server/load the world
Cause: Depends on the error log. most common reason I have seen is because of an mod item that crashes the world. (Check the how to read an error log tutorial down here)
Fix: the fix for an block incompatibility. (the following example is for the oven from "mrcrayfish furniture mod" but it also works for the DNA Breeder.)
Go into the mods folder then to the config folder,
open up the cfm.cfg file and change the line:
    I:BlockOven=854  to
I:BlockOven= Which should delete the oven from you world the next time you load it, (Thanks to  Kr0nZ)
Fix 2: you will have to open up your map in mcedit and remove the block manually.

Issue: Server/Client crashes when you joins a server/load the world ( StructureStart issue)
Cause: Depends on the error log. (Check the how to read an error log tutorial down here)This one is for the following issue:
at net.minecraft.world.gen.structure.StructureStart.func_75068_a(StructureStart.java:47) at net.minecraft.world.gen.structure.MapGenStructure.func_75051_a(MapGenStructure.java:81)  Fix 1: Update the game to version 1.0.12a If you have done that, And the issue is still there or started there, go tough the following steps:
Shut off server/game. go to the world save folder. Go into the data folder. Delete BOPVillage.dat and villages.dat. Issue still there? Try Fix 2. Fix 2: >Check the post here below (#4)
    (Thanks to  kalbintion)

Issue: Says it is missing microblocks
Cause: Version mismatch between client and server
Fix: Find out what version of the modpack the server is running and set the client to it.
    (Thanks to  kalbintion)

    Issue: Minimap losing textures
    Cause: went into cave mode

    Fix: press ; (semi-colon) in-game
    (Thanks to  kalbintion)

Issue: Hunger Bar randomly depletes very quickly Cause: Unknown Fix: Relog (Generally fixes the issue 99% of the time)   (Thanks to  kalbintion)

    Issue: Saves worlds disappearing.
    Cause: unknown?
Fix: Back-up the world save folder from .technicmodpacksattack-of-the-bteamsaves
Create a new world with the exact same name, it may not start you off in a familiar area
If it does not - go to where your base would be, if it isn't there, continue to follow instructions
Copy the level.dat from the newly generated world, most likely under the world save name followed by a hyphen under the saves folder mentioned previously, into the old worlds folder.

Note: Having two worlds with the exact same name can be a bit confusing, ensure you load into the correct world if two now appear with the same name
Note: Doing these instructions without providing the same world seed will cause chunks to no longer properly line-up

    (Thanks to  kalbintion)

Issue: Mapwiter file corrupt (see >this to see if you have that error).
    Cause: unknown.
Fix: Go to the location of the mapwriter you find in the error log. and delete the file (make a backup) and let it regenerate by the client.
Be aware: There are 2 different locations where the file can be

    Version 1: C:/Users/<username>/AppData/Roaming/.technic/modpacks/attack-of-the-bteam/saves/mapwriter_sp_worlds/<worldname>/mapwriter.cfg:1'
    Version 2: C:/Users/<username>/AppData/Roaming/.technic/modpacks/attack-of-the-bteam/saves/mapwriter_mp_worlds/<worldname>/mapwriter.cfg:1'

    Issue: Game wont load up.
    Cause: unknown.
Fix: Start your technic launcher, select Attack of the b-team mod, and go to settings. Press "open folder", go to "mods", delete all "project red" files, install the latest build of project red (32 i think) from here  and pop all the .jar files into the "mods" folder!

    Hello Fellow AOBT fans!

I'm Looking now few more active players to my server, i recently bought server for aobt and now i could add couple more people.
Server is 12-slot server, starting from 10GB Ram and should get more just by requesting if we get memory related problems.
Contract with host is now 3months and i will continue it if needed. that means that server is active and alive
And server is hosted at EUROPE

Current world is about month old, and people are settled in nicely. We have spawn village project going atm, so soon we will have place where to trade!
That's why i'm looking a bit older people now. Under 18 is not what i'm looking at. but if your application is super good, i might think about it.  i just don't want another "but i do that everywhere, but, but.." situation.
I want people who can work together, trade without fear being raided, that you can turn your head without fear that something goes missing.. and mostly knows what is private whitelist NON-PVP. if you don't know what i mean. then... try another server.

      Update: 11th may
                   - Spawn village area is almost done, and has lots of room for shops to build.
                   - +18 is not required anymore, but will be a bonus in apply

!!!!  Every applicant who got accepted, get min. one week trial time.. just to see that no harm come by your actions and you are active !!!!!

    Basic rules:
-no griefing or stealing. and i mean it!
-NO PVP. means cold blood killing, if you want to fight, make sure both sides has agreed.
-Pranks is allowed, but if you have no creativity about it.. don't bother.
    - and so on.. it does not mean if it's not written, it does not effect

Kalbintion got a reaction from ImiPieEth in Modpack won't open :'( Please help
Not sure if this section permits posts like this but failure to delete files indicates something still has it open, this is often the case with antivirus or other security applications that scan files. Attempt to manually delete the file and windows should complain about failing to delete it because of some program (it should say which) has it still open. Once you know what still has it kept open, you can add an exception to the .minecraft folder so it wont have this issue again in the future. A reboot will usually temporarily fix this issue btw.

Kalbintion reacted to Loader in Wires?
    That's fine, just be careful wherever those links are near TE stuff.  The GC stuff doesn't have a problem.  The issue occurs when you have wires near any thermalexpansion block - it doesn't have to appear to be connected, it can draw and supply power just the same as long as it's next to the block which is why you have to be careful.  Here's the simplest example I can make;

    That's an energy cell on top of a steam engine, on top of an aqueous accumulator, with the little GC wires on the side.  The process goes like this;
The steam engine generates power - power is passed through the top in the normal way, but the wire on the side also draws power (it does this simultaneously which is the start of the chain reaction). The wire on the side draws all of the power from the TE machine, then passes it in again (starting the exponential).  The engine passes as much as it can into the energy cell (it generates at 80RF/t, but can transfer power much faster). The wire increases power exponentially until it hits its maximum allowed transfer cap. Everything runs at maximum limits until they fill up all the outputs (energy cells, engines etc). The wire continues to generate power exponentially as it takes the power from the TE machine before putting it back in.  It'll eventually hit an impossible to record number so long as the generator is running (sometimes it can be self-sustaining but I haven't worked out why that is).  When the information is too large to be stored that doesn't stop it from trying to store it and that's what causes the corruption (it writes data in places it shouldn't be in the chunk file). The output on the side of the energy cell and the top bit of wire was just me messing around to confirm some things, you can actually do this with just the one tiny bit of wire on the lower level and an input on the bottom of the cell.  Hopefully that shows you where the problem is?  Don't mix GC and TE outputs - TE stuff should have only one power output - that's how you can be safe (one wire on top would've been fine).

Kalbintion got a reaction from Bob Mc Bob in Auto-Animal Farm
This is a tutorial for an automated animal farm, this design was tested with Pigs, Cows, and Chickens

Open the Spoiler for the video tutorial!

    The Base Building
The farm design itself is a 7x7x7. The bottom two layers are for redstone. So find an area, clear out the 7x7, then surround the inner 5x5 area with a block of some sort (such as glass) 4 high leaving one block on the bottom layer empty on three sides. Then put a roof on it, leaving the center one blank. After that, place slabs on the lower half of the bottom layer of the wall blocks. This will create a 2.5 block high inner area.

Note: the image above does not have the hole in the center of the roof, but it should be there.

    The Machines
You will need to make the following machines as well as have the following redstone components:
1 Breeder 1 Grinder 1 Mob Counter 1 Vacuum Hopper 1 Redstone Comparator 2 Redstone Torch 5 Redstone 2 Tesseracts (or additional Energy Conduits and Fluiducts!) 6 Energy Conduits 1 Saw Machine Locations
In one of the open bottom slots, preferably across from another hole, place the Mob Counter so it is counting inside of the farm. Opposite the Counter, place the Grinder. And in the final slot, place the Breeder. In the roof ceiling, place the Vacuum Hopper.

At this point it should look similar to the following image

Note: In the image above, across is the Breeder, to the left is the Harvester and the right machine is the Mob Counter. And the Vacuum hopper in the top.

Now break out the blocks from the breeder and harvester to the same corner. If possible, save these blocks. Place one of the two Tesseracts in this corner and run the Energy Conduit from the Tesseract to the Breeder and to the Harvester. Place the second Tesseract on top of the Vacuum Hopper and make the Vacuum Hopper output Experience to the Tesseract on the upper portion. This will be the experience output.

Note: Redstone Energy Conduits are used in the image above, but any conduits can be used. The point of this is to get power to the Breeder and Harvester.

    Redstone Mechanics
Under this build, clear out a 1 block high area, 2 if you are unable to morph into a bat. Under the Mob Counter, place 1 redstone dust. Then place the comparator so it is facing toward the Harvester. To the right of the Comparator, place one redstone dust and one redstone torch. Make sure to not toggle the Comparator into subtraction mode (the first redstone torch on the comparator would be on in this case) In front of the comparator, toward the Harvester, place the final three dust. This should lead into a block. The block on the opposite side, under the Harvester, will be placed a redstone torch.

Note: The above image had the base building removed to better show off the redstone placed. It can be difficult to see if the building was left there.

    Finalizing
Now, you're almost done. We need to block off the cable from being accessed by the animals (and causing a miscount on the Mob Counter, or escaping from the pen) so using the Saw and the blocks you (hopefully) saved from clearing out, cut them down into Panels or Covers and cover the cables up from the inside. Once the energy conduits are covered up, you can then safely place in two of the desired animal (Pig, Cow, Chicken) into the pen then fill up the breeder. This will run for quite some time.

    Additional Changes
Here is a list of additional changes you do to make this more automated or more efficient.
Auto-fill Breeder from below from your storage system. Place a chest on the back side of the harvester to catch items Then suck those items into your storage
Be creative! You can use this farm setup to create two additional pens for the cows, chickens or pigs (depending which one you started with).

Just see what I did with mine.

Kalbintion reacted to Loader in Recommended server specifications?
That's really weird, it doesn't look like it's the CPU limiting you - you should be able to get up to nearly 50ms (not including overhead, so ~50ms from that indicator) total tick time before it starts to give you block lag.

Is the behaviour the same without those garbage collection flags set? (-XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC) I could imagine they might cause lag spikes (parnewgc is also a bit like aggressiveopts, +UseParallelGC is safer) but I can't think of a way they could cause block lag..

Even if the VPS provider was limiting you quietly you should be able to see the effect in minecraft (like you would in a benchmark) even if they can hide most numbers, so I can't see it being that either.

I can't think of anything that points to it from the information so far, and I think you've provided all the relevant information (I can't think of anything to ask for that might help other than playing with those flags and seeing results from that).  I'm thinking, I will post back if I come up with anything.  Congratulations on your interesting and unusual problem.

Kalbintion got a reaction from Loader in Tinkers Construct Smeltery Issue
This issue can also happen when the smeltery controller loads, it may load incorrectly (packet loss) or have stored its information incorrectly when the chunk was saved that could cause this. This particular method of issue is less likely but keep in mind that even if you make sure it is only on a single chunk, this issue may still arise rarely.

NEI has a bug where if you get a bunch of pages of results (say you search for 'chisel') then go to a certain page like page 3 for example, then you search for something with very few results (something like 'crescent hammer') then the search window will stay on page 3, but it'll be page 3 out of 1 (an empty page).  Clicking next or previous should force it to go back to an existing page.

Sure that's true - but if you've got 100 regulars and say 5-30 on at any given time, that kind of chunkloader increases the load to be equivalent of 50+ players all the time if everybody has one (worse if they're exploring, as one person can have an area loaded and load an area around themselves).  A poppet shelf each would increase the server load by the equivalent of something like 4 extra players (more is obviously worse, but the less chunks loaded in general the better).

Do you see the issue there now?  It only matters much if there's a lot of people with a lot of always on chunks - a few here and there or if most players don't bother means it's not such a big deal.  It does also means that if a player leaves your server they keep eating up resources anyway (even if they never come back they're using resources other players can't), which isn't great.

The MFR chunkloader uses a lot of power, so it limits its use by being so expensive to run most players won't bother loading too many chunks.  The poppet shelf uses inconvenient components, so again many players won't bother and just get other people giving/trading for them (after which they'll lay out that chunk carefully rather than load too many).  The hoppers are dirt cheap and available to everyone who knew about them in vanilla, but again not much of an issue unless people are loading a lot.  A 'entity-less' chunk uses less processing power than a 'normal' loaded chunk, but if we're generous and say it's half a 'normal' chunk's usage then we're still talking about 25 times a poppet shelf's resources to load that centre chunk (assuming the entities in the centre chunk are minimal - entities can soak up a bunch of their own resources and even compete with the chunks if you have enough of them).

You can also modify the default settings in the Morph.cfg file located in:  C:UsersusernameAppDataRoaming.technicmodpacksattack-of-the-bteamconfig

Open the file in notepad.  You can change settings so you don't instantly morph into what you just killed.  You can also set it so when you morph into a hostile mob, other hostile mobs won't attack you (one I find happy to avoid creeper grief when the buggers sneak up on you).

Kalbintion got a reaction from kevin2000tran in how do i remove mods?
Head to .technic/modpacks/attack-of-the-bteam/mods/ and start pulling the mod files from there. They'll be removed.

Edit: pulling in this case means delete or remove from the mods folder.
