Nope, You're wrong. Since Technic does not use the .minecraft, you will have to go to %appdata% > Roaming > .Technic > modpacks > (The ModPack that you want) > Saves > Then drop the map in there
How to get in %appdata% / Roaming, Type in search "%appdata%", press enter, On Windows XP, click Run, then type "%appdata%, then enter,

Woops, saw some others post servers in here too so thought that was the place, can a mod move this thread  to the correct place please?

Try allocating more RAM, if you can't go over 1GB, you need to install JAVA 64 bit. Your PC is beast, just put more RAM and it should be okay.

Hexxit does not have the integrated L-CTRL Better sprint like in 1.7.2, as the modpack is in 1.5.2, YOu will have to use the default double W tap

Some people have friends that play only tekkit and some that only play just hexxit, so why not combine the two and have both groups happy?

Download the worldedit, go to your .technic folder, put it in the mods (or coremods) folder, EnJoy!
