IDED actually has been doing a pretty comprehensive guide on all the mods in AotB. So, doable, but time consuming.

That looks really good, I normally do whatever my inspiration tells me to do. if I like a design i just roll with it.
 
In terms of your configuration, I think you should use the entrance room (or a empty room next to it) just to look good. Use the crayfish mod and microblocks and openblocks to make living rooms and kitchens and bedrooms. Theres some really cool stuff like TV's and couches, cabinets, stoves, coffee machines etc. Then the rest of your house for all the other things. Witching, Tinkering, Thermal expantion things. I like to dig down and make multiple floors, connected with elevators.

These are amazing tutorials! I know what you mean about having to watch complex tutorials over again to get what is being shown. That's one of the reasons I really like how you have links to different sections in the video descriptions! Keep it up, IDED, I'm really enjoying them!  

I dunno maybe its just me that thinks of this like a real world object, think of cobblestone in real life... a few stones held together with some sand and water (well pretty much)

do you think that would be a substance you could make a workable tool from?
Of course not it would fall apart when you took your first swing if not before and so I think that maybe the mod dev's though of it in this way, cobblestone is to fragile a substance to be applicable for anything smaller than a wall or pavement.
 
That's just my logic on the subject.

One fun mod you can do early on is Advanced Genetics. It allows you to alter your, and mob, DNA. There are some tutorials you can find for it on Youtube. My personal favorites are the ones by IDEDonline.

It's not a mod that's greatly about efficiency, that's true, but when another player comes over to visit and you offer them baked potato for the billionth time, don't be surprised if they finally snap and shank you.  It goes some way to prevent that I suppose.

It looks like you're out of memory for the server. If you have a 64-bit OS then get 64 bit Java. This let's you add more memory using that line of code you have in your post. If this doesn't work I don't know.
