Did you remember to update your modpack with this link and increase your modpack version? Also like Jaari mentioned that link is broken.

E4RU reacted to EvilOwl in Modpacks wont open! Everytime I open a pack it crashes!
@658.am this is an issue in lwjgl that's happening on Win 10 machines with old Intel hardware and recent java 8 versions.
The issue and the fix was mentioned like gazillion times on this board. Just search for "Pixel format not accelerated". Hint: downgrade your java version to 8u25 x64.
P.S. you broke the rules by posting that wall of text (log). Use pastebin links, edit your post and fix the issue.
@E4RU you have potential, join our Discord, check out the crash solving bot in action in our help channel, ask questions or just come and hang out with the community. I forgot about rules, yeah, definitely read those if you decide to stay.

E4RU reacted to Munaus in TechnicPack as a modpack producer is very demotivating and sad
Tekkit Classic, Lite, Main (space), Legends, Hexxit, Attack of the B-team and Blightfall. I count more than 4 Technic packs
and that's only by the Technic team, there's also Voltz, TPPI, Big Dig and Hack/Mine that are made by a third party that Technic hosts.
Technic hosts all these packs, they pay money so people can download them. They also pay to upkeep the Platform and the forum.
In both the forum and mainly now on the Discord we help users to fix many of their issues relating to launcher not working or modpack problems.
we also got others jumping the helpwagon, players who enjoy giving time of their day to help others. Yours truly used to be one of them
Sum that up together and you'll find that the words "sad" or "demotivating" is not the impression you get from Technic. It's quite the opposite.

But you mentioned modpack bugs and why they wont patch them. There's fairly many reasons for this:
Mods are either not updated/discontinued like some Hexxit mods
or they are not updated for that specific MC version, as the mod dev decided to update to a newer MC version. This breaks many packs as you have to decide whether to ditch some mods that lag behind on updates in favour of a few others that has.
There's also the rare occurrence when some mods working together causes such a bug that neither of the mod devs wishes to take responsibility for it.
In this example I think of Attack of the B-team and the village crash. A combination of Biomes O'Plenty, Necromancy and vanilla villages caused a crash. Technic could not fix it as the issue lied in the code. But whose code was not up to debate, as the mod devs didn't see it as their problem and Mojang simply doesn't care due to it being a modded client. So Technic disabled vanilla villages as the only solution.
You also have to take into consideration that Technic team is not a huge triple A company with hundreds of employers. It's Kakermix, Sct, Genpage, Talonos and Skuli. 5 dudes who has lives outside of Technic where they have to work and pay their bills. There used to be more admins than that, but many have quit to pursue their own careers or studies.
Anyone making a pack, be it willy-nilly or carefully picking certain mods that play nicely together will still have some bugs inbetween them at release. It's impossible for one or two players to spot all of them, but it's guaranteed that hundreds, or in this case thousands playing Technic, will find them. It's easy to get stressed out and point fingers at Technic, while forgetting that other packs made by the community probably have the same bugs, or worse. In addition, many of the packs made by the community does not offer as much help and support as we do here.
So that just leaves the laziness. They may certainly be that, but seeing as they are still here and Notch, who refused to fix anything and bailed out by selling his game and ran away with the M$ money, Technic is still going strong. That means something.
So to sum it all up; Recommended is a playable version. It may not be the most bug-free but it can still be enjoyed by the majority. If you want to prove your point of them being lazy then you are very welcomed to try and fix the bugs and exploits and present your version of their pack to the Technic team.
After all, CanVox, the former modpack creator in Technic, used to be a simple player before he got the position as an admin.

You need to make a .zip file out of sub folders. So don't put bin, mods, config etc in one folder and then zip them. You need to zip mods, config, bin etc into a zip file.

E4RU reacted to profjb in [Guide] Running technic launcher modpacks using the standard minecraft launcher
Please note: If possible ask if you have permission to run a technic launcher modpack through the standard minecraft launcher as some modpack authors may not want you to as it does effect the analytics gathered for the pack and certainly don't edit and re-distribute your instance of the pack to others if you don't have permission.

Technics launcher is an easy and effective way of installing and updating modpacks.
However, on a rare occasion that you're having trouble with the Technic launcher or you wish to install a client mod that doesn't disappear everytime you update the pack. (For e.g. Journeymap)...
You can do the following depending on if you're able to launch/access the launcher.

You can run and access the launcher but the launcher/minecraft lags
    - Open the Technic launcher. Click on your modpack and then click 'modpack options','open'. This should open the directory your modpack is saved. Copy and save the location of your modpack instance somewhere so you don't forget it. (Example directory. C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\.technic\modpacks\[modpack name])
    - Go into /bin/version.json. Your minecraft forge version will be displayed here.
    - Find your version of forge here: http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and install using the correct installer to your normal MC directory. (E.g. %appdata%/roaming...)
    - Open the standard MC launcher and make a new instance in the normal MC launcher. (In the new windows launcher this is located under 'Launch options'). You should change the 'Game directory' to the Technic directory link you saved earlier and change 'Version' to the correct version of forge you wish to use.
Fin. Please note if the packs Forge version updates you will have to manually re-install forge and change the 'Version' to this newest version of forge

You can't access the launcher/packs won't update on the launcher (or) you wish to add client mods
Before you do anything you need to have access to the latest version of the modpack. If you're having trouble running a custom modpack you can usually contact the modpack author and they will have the direct download link. I don't know what you would do for Technic packs (need to ask the Technic staff).
Although this doesn't benefit Technic please note if you're really having trouble you may find your pack on a different launcher. (Won't advertise any here but you probably know them).

    - Download and extract the .zip file. Copy and save the location of the directory of the modpack you just extracted somewhere so you don't forget it.
    (Example directory. C:\Users\[username]\Desktop\[Modpack name])
You should change the 'Game directory' to the directory link you saved earlier and change 'Version' to the correct version of forge you wish to use.
    - Fin.
Please note if the packs Forge version updates you will have to manually re-install forge and change the 'Version' to this newest version of forge.
Also note that you will have to re-download the lastest .zip file everytime the modpack updates and update the mods + config folders).

    - For client mods simply follow the same steps (above) but add the desires mod(s) in the 'mods' folder. Make sure you have permission from both the mod author and modpack author to add this to the pack.

I think whats happened is you've downloaded the wrong version of the mod Openblocks, you have the .deof version of Openblocks or your missing a dependency.
Check if you have Openmodslib, if you do then could you give me the version of Forge your modpack runs on and what version of Openblocks and Openmodslib you have.

Also for further reference. Use pastebin... http://pastebin.com/

E4RU reacted to Rektgaming1337 in I'll make modpacks for whoever wants me to :D
As the title says, I'll be making modpacks for whoever would like me to.  All you need to do is message or post a mod list with all the mods you'd like to be in it, and I'll make one for you! I won't be making modpacks that are just an idea though, I need a mod list. Sorry. I'll only work on two at a time, but you can submit more than 2 and I'll get to them ASAP. Sometimes I'll close submission if I'm overwhelmed with requests, but I'll most likely open submission again at some point.
    Currently working on: None!

(Yes, I'm aware of the other topic that does exactly the same thing. But that topic is closed right now, so I decided to try making my own :D)

I'll have a look today and see whats going on.

I am able to connect and play. Try this:

    1) Download Plowman's Barebones Pack
    2) Run it once.
    3) Put all the mods from the Client zip file into /mods. Make a Flan folder and add the two content pack .jar files .
    4) Launch it again and attempt to connect.

This should ensure you have a clean test environment.

Dropbox links for a modpack download should be altered in this manner: Change "www" to "dl". Change "dropbox" to "dropboxusercontent". Remove the trailing "?dl=0" or "?dl=1". Your client pack has no config files. This is always ill advised and often causes significant to fatal issues when the pack is used to connect to a server. One of your mods has a (very lame) April Fools feature. The artifacts you are seeing are because it's currently April 1.
