Did you remove the clientside mods in your server/mods/ folder? Also, I would suggest updating Sync to 2.2.3 if you prefer the shell storage to not completely erase your inventory.

That means that you are trying to play on Windows 10, with a Win10 unsupported graphics card, likely Intel HD Graphics.

You appear to be having an issue with an unsupported Intel Graphics device and Windows 10. This issue is common for older computers and Windows 10. Minecraft 1.8 was released on September 2, 2014. However, the enchantment system overhaul was already added in 1.8 snapshot 14w02a, which was released on January 9, 2014. So its very possible to see it in 2 year old vids.

Minecraft 1.8 saw another overhaul to the enchantment system. Its even easier now, but you need some lapis to enchant.

Try starting the modpack once, then: In order to get your logs, please go into the Launcher Options (upper-right corner), then on the bottom-left corner of that screen, click "Open Logs".The logs are all called `techniclauncher_YYYY-MM-DD.log`, with YYYY being the Year, MM being the Month, and DD being the day. Then upload your most recent log.

Please provide your launcher log. Upload the contents to www.pastebin.com and give us the link. You can find your launcher log by clicking on Launcher Options (cog) on the launcher, then pressing the Open Logs button. Please use the latest log, preferably after trying to run the modpack once.

You might want to look into your modpack.jar's size being less than 1KB. Should be, at the very least, 2 MB.

Are you sure that the second log isn't cut off? It looks a bit short to me...
