Google translate suggests it's chinese, so I think you're in the clear. But you're jinxing the arabic and indian spam!

I know this has been brought up time and again, but is a post per day limit for new accounts out of the queston? Spamming wouldn't be that much of a problem if we didn't get 30 pages of it per bot per day.

That, and a captcha for posting threads. Not just a captcha for registering.

I'm assuming the forum software is modifiable in some way, it pretty much has to be.

  2. the magma crucible can produce lava by consuming cobblestone.

It can also produce lava from Netherrack, which is cheaper in terms of energy, and should result in a net gain when you properly hook it up to a Magmatic Engine. Only problem is that it can't be mass-produced like cobble can.

  3. Payday's dead? Have I missed something?

They added micro-transactions on top of the already egregious amounts of DLC.

Basically Crimefest 2015 is happening, and they promised all updates would be free. And I guess the update is free, but to actually enjoy it you need to shell out $2,50 per weapon.

The micro-transactions are in the form of "weapon skins" like in CS:GO, except these ones also give stat boosts. On top of that they've nerfed most weapons (but buffed pistols to hilariously OP levels), to encourage people to offset the difference by buying stat-boosting skins.

Additionally the development team is falling apart. A lot of the employees are leaving in droves. The vice-president (brother of the CEO, too) of Starbreeze, Ulf Andersson, had a falling out due to the business practices, and he's now started his own company. Naturally Overkill couldn't help but mock Ulf by portraying Wolf (the ingame character that's based on Ulf) in a negative way.

It appears there's a bit of corruption in the company too, just read this.

The negative reviews are slowly but surely taking over the 100k outdated positive reviews, as well. Metacritic ratings went from 7.9 to 5.0. Sales figures are dropping.

  4. Good news.

Now that PAYDAY 2 is dead, I will be spending much more time here.

Anyway, I still can't connect to the server. What's going on? The address is spence.mooo.com, right? It's not finding any servers at all over there. Are you sure you unblocked me properly?

  5. Fixed the network problems. Speedtest ping is now 6ms, and our upload speed went from ~4mbit to ~40mbit.

So yeah, server should be better now, and if it starts degrading again, now I know how to fix it.

Teraku, you should be unblocked now. As well as any ireland/scotland/england/whales people. With the better network response, it might actually work reasonably well overseas now.

Alright, many thanks. Will get on later today.

Don't worry I already pestered him about it.  They added IC2 which is cool.

That's great. IC2 was really one of the things that this modpack was still missing.

EDIT: It seems I still cannot get on the server. Is it on right now?

  6. You're being blocked by the firewall.

The server is located in the western US. The upload speed is *supposed* to be more than enough, (it's about 30 mbit), but there has been some occasional network lag for some people, so it might not be the best server for you. I can unblock you if you still want to try though.

Yeah, I'd like to give it a shot anyway. Unblock me if possible.

  7. I forgot to mention this earlier, but if anyone from outside the US/Finland has trouble connecting, let me know and I can fix it. (Network firewall does geo-whitelisting).

Where is the server located, anyway? I've had some pretty bad experience with servers in the US, I live in Europe and mining and combat is pretty much impossible on US servers, especially West Coast.

Anyway I cannot seem to join. Is the server off, or am I blocked by the firewall?

  8. Alright guys, the Official Kitty Jail Tekkit Legends server is officially OPEN. :frogsiren:

Rules: Be cool. Don't grief, steal, etc. I neither want nor expect to have to make some exhaustive list of rules.

    The server address is:  spence.mooo.com

(No, that's not my name, I just borrowed the address.)

    Things to note:

    • I have left mobgriefing enabled, but I, (or an op), will compensate/refund you if exessssssive damages are caused by this, (IE: creeper in your machine room.)
    • All chunk-loading is enabled, but please keep it reasonable, as the server isn't super duper powerful. Please no more than one or two chunkloading devices per person.
    • PvP is enabled.
    • The server difficulty is set to Normal.
    • The server should be on 24/7, but if anything happens to it, let me know either here or on Steam, and I'll fix it ASAP.

I have made a few custom config file tweaks, the significant ones are listed below:

    Enjoy! :tipshat:

Awesome, guess I'll start playing Tekkit Legends again.

  9. Alright, question time. :pcgaming:

I've got this fresh install of Debian 8 on an old-ish machine that is suitable for a minecraft server. (And a killer upload speed of about 30mbit/s to boot.) I was planning on running a Tekkit Legends server for us all to romp around on.

My problem is, I rather dislike the OP-ness of Equivalent Exchange. I was thinking of maybe disabling it, disabling certain parts of it, or changing the recipes.

What opinions do you nerds normal attractive people have on this matter? I haven't played with EE in heaven-knows how long, so maybe my dislike of EE is a tad misplaced. I'm perfectly willing to leave it untouched if that's what you guys want. Otherwise, if I were to change/disable it, what would be the cleanest way to do it?

Not sure how substantial the modpack is without Project E, but I guess you could remove it if you wanted to. It is rather OP.

  10. Well, I mean, if it's that specific, these spambots might be finding a gap in the market which nobody ever knew (or ever wanted to know) existed. It's a great strategy. Possibly.

Sooner or later, everyone will want "boy love back specialist", whatever that means. Just watch.

Let's go nuts with that... "Tekkit with Railcraft and Forestry" :P
(I would faint if that happened)

You're either an insider or a psychic. Possibly both.

  11. Redstone Arsenal is a TeamCoFH mod, I'm sure CoFH Core is a dependency.  It's also possible that the pack developers used CoFH Core for the ore generation.

In addition to Railcraft, Engineer's Toolbox has ore-doubling and such.

Given that Hexxit 2 was promised sooner than Tekkit 2 (Although this may have changed when Skuli left, because I think he was the one that was working on that plan) it's possible that Tekkit Legends is intended to succeed Tekkit Classic (I mean, just look at that mod list) as opposed to Tekkit.

I'm not entirely sure if Skuli left completely. He said he was leaving around April, but somewhere in July he was still looking for beta testers for the new Hexxit. I forgot about the matter, though.

Tekkit Legends is probably meant to supersede Tekkit Classic (especially now that Railcraft and Forestry is back), but without the stuff that no one really used to its full extent (such as IC2). With Project E, I guess the lack of machines is covered.

  12. The new Tekkit Legends does contain Buildcraft, though.

Interesting new direction they're going for. I guess it fits with the modpack's theme. It does explain the absence of most tech mods.

I really like Project E, even though it's probably as unbalanced as EE2 was. With the new mod direction, I doubt it'll matter much however.

Hopefully a new Tekkit modpack like the space-y Tekkit is on the to-do list. At least I'll have Tekkit legends and the 1.7.10 modpack to hold me over.

  13. I was certain people were just impatient and couldn't find the machines, but after looking at creative myself I realize that TE is definitely not included.

makes me wonder what CoFH Core does.... and is Railcraft the means for ore doubling- process? Besides Project E

I was wondering the same thing. I don't think they're using any CoFH mods, so they might have simply forgot to include TE.

Regardless I'm pleased about Project E, even though it might not be very balanced.

  14. Looks like it's the equivalent of Tekkit II

Alright, thanks. Makes me wonder what happened to the new Hexxit, though?

Thermal Expansion is noticeably missing in the new Tekkit. Redstone Arsenal seems to be an addon for Thermal Expansion, but without TE, both this mod the modpack itself seems to lack a core machine system (like how Tekkit Classic has IC2 and Tekkit for 1.5.2 has Thermal Expansion). Is this simply an oversight when creating the modpack page's mod list, or is the lack already covered by another mod?

  15. Ars Magica 2 is already updated to 1.7.10, but unfortunately the support for it is very limited and the current builds are very unstable. It won't be added to the modpack anytime soon.

Alright, thanks for the info. I guess I'll hold off on using that mod for a while. I hope it'll be fixed soon, wouldn't want to see such a great mod go to waste.

By the way, do you know if Smart Moving is compatible with this modpack? I saw that Player API and Render Player API were included in this pack, so adding Smart Moving shouldn't break anything. Just wanted to know before I inadvertently break something.
