NEI permissions are controlled by the file config/NEIServer.cfg, and by default it does indeed let regular users do a bunch of things like control weather and time. The safest thing is to set them all to 'OP'.
This should help a few people.

That was quite helpful thanks. Going to add that problem to the bug list and it will be fixed in the next version.

Jesus this entire thread made my day. I expected to be banned, but instead i got an awesome avatar, a title, and a quote. Thanks for the laughs, I'ma sign out and burn these mothafukin trees. Ciao!
We knew eventually you'd get it and come to the right conclusion. We had faith. You didn't let us down. Godspeed The Bad Ass CAT. What a happy ending.

I think NEI might yeah, but I couldn't say for sure. I'm not one of the coders so I can only help with known bugs or troubleshooting. Check it out in the mean time.
There is also a thread which talks about permissions here http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php?topic=83.0

There's a signal delay from space. We wont be able to watch that video for 3 weeks.

Way to backseat mod guys. There's a report button. GOSH!
-
They shouldn't be able to do those things if you have permission set correctly. I've not noticed that problem.

That's honestly really odd. First check to make sure no one is playing a prank on you. :V

Ok then. The best thing you can do is post your log. It'll be in application support, technic, logs. The most recent one is probably log "0" so if you make a pastbin of that and post it here someone might be able to note down what the error is. It sounds similar to an error I was having but I couldn't say anything for sure because I'm the artist not a coder.

I play on a mac as well. There seem to be a lot more issues with mac installs then PC unfortunately. The .exe seems to run smoother. Your best bet is to make sure you have the most current tekkit jar available and to make sure that you delete your technic folder before an install. It should be in the same "application support" directory as your .minecraft. Delete that folder, and then launch the jar again and let it re-install. I've had luck doing that.

We really cant. We've got absolutely nothing to go on. It could even just be your net connection. If you want you can just fill this thread with as much information as you can find and someone might find a problem in it somewhere but your issue is just so vague. Are you just using standard tekkit, or are other mods involved?

We can't exactly offer support for mIDas since it's not a Technic thing, and you haven't said what you used it to do or anything really. Just that you used some patcher and now some (all?) your pipes are gone? BC or Redpower pipes? Gotta include more info my man. There's a stickied thread at the top of the bug forum list that you should have read first.
If I had to make a guess with nothing to go on, I'd guess that somehow you've removed the pipes from the ID list so they're no longer working. I'm not familiar with mIDas at all though.
Not a lot of showin off. Here's my first base build.

No. He or she is correct, we need that. We've been busy with a hand full of behind the scenes technic stuff and it's distracted us from building the forums. Hoping to start adding things like that this week. Nice start on your base, thanks for showing it off.
