im going to agree with warpspeed on this one. make a HV Transformer to change the EV into HV packets and then glass fibre it to your base. Its expensive but definitely the most reliable method to lose the least amount of energy. If you want to preserve it as EV (but whyyyy would you do that!?) all you need is to make another HV transformer at the end of the glass fibre cable with one of the single dot faces connected to it and place a lever (and flip it) next to it so it inputs HV and outputs EV. Why would you do that is beyond me tho, maybe Energy Links can withstand EV... or maybe you could make a very energy expensive uninsulated HV cable defensive fence?
*shrug*
...I was the one who suggested that?

Would it be possible to fully automatize a system using the MFSU carts? I doubt so, unless you're ready to waste a bunch of energy. Tell me if I'm wrong, after all, I haven't really dug into railcraft yet.
I think you can, with a timer, boarding rails energy loaders, energy unloaders, etc, and Neither have I dug into railcraft. You probably aren't wasting any power but you can use a MFSU in between the enrgy loader and the reactor to be safe.
-
You can use HV transformers, (they transfer the power to lower amounts of EU, but more per tick) and then run a glass fibre cable to the output of the transformer to your base, or you can use MFSU carts from railcraft.

I hope I'll be quick enough at the launch to give my characters the same names, Ulfric Stormcloak and Skittle the Great. Secretly I'm still hoping they won't wipe all your characters before the launch.
So what server do you guys play on? I play on Whiteside Ridge, we absolutely dominate in WvW

mkey so i did as geweldigheid. still the logo is just stuck at the screen
Try running the techniclauncher.jar located in your .techniclaucher folder, or run the .exe as Administrator

http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/technic-ssp-tutorial-map-v2-3-for-tp-6.9/ , it may be a little bit outdated.
Or you can use this: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/technic-pack-guide-updated-exams-suck.5606/#post-47435 (I'd download it i I were you, downloadable version is better, it's longer)

Actually, I don't know if it's the MAC part that's the problem when it comes to texture packs.
I tried to download DBcraft texture pack (http://bdcraft.net/download-purebdcraft-texturepack-for-minecraft) to my tekkit's save. I used Minecraft HD Patcher (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/232701-12w25a-125update-616-mcpatcher-hd-fix-237-02/) on my tekkit's Minecraft.jar, but encounter a problem myself.
Entering the game works all nice and dandy, but when I try to select the texture pack, the game menu vanishes, freezes for ~ 15 seconds, before just turning white and forcing me to Alt+F4. It shouldn't be a problem with my computer as I am 100% sure it can handle the texture resolution.
All though in his case, I might be wrong. But the information Sparky gave was really, really vague to be honest.
Edit: Just saw him write that the texture button did nothing at all for him, so ignore what I wrote up there.
I'm still fairly new to Technic, so I am probably doing something wrong, heads up would be nice in that case.
I don't think you need to use theHD patcher, as Tekkit has optifine installed, which has the hd patcher build in. I'm not entirely sure, though.

You can try direwolf20 (it's not really the technic pack but most of the mods are the same) or Tekkit with Duncan, Duncan doesn't really do things fast, but explains some things very well. There also is a good technic tutorial map, floating around these forums somewhere. That's where I learned the basics.

Red matter swords (or Katars, which are even better damage wise) do AOE damage on a right click, right? So if you just have some deployers hooked up to a timer, wouldn't that kill them pretty fast?
Edit: Ah, AOE activates with "R", so it doesn't work with deployers, just tested it...

I disabled my firewall, deleted the .techniclauncher folder, disabled my antivirus (kaspersky), and that worked for me.

Energy link! It works better than the old electric engines IMO

Then what the hell is he doing at a job that requires fine motor control?
Trying to blend in with the normal people. Maybe it was his dream to work there.

Are you hosting with hamachi, or without?

I need only one: How I can fix it?
(I havenĀ“t readed it perfectly, i can miss it)
HMMM, I don't know, what about clicking the link havocx posted, and I reposted for you TWICE? If you don't understand how o open a link: You need to update your java.

*FIX* mod_IC2AdvancedMachines : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0

If your English is so bad that you even can't find that, you can better stop now...

To Krivulak and ItzKJ: havocx42 already posted a link to the solution to the problem you guys are having
*FIX* mod_IC2AdvancedMachines : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0

What if you actually start reading the topic and read your own error log?

Probably a stupid question, but have you changed your IP in the server config file?

Re: Wooden conductive pipes not working
It works now! I did various things, including transforming into lower voltages, and I just made a cable tot the quarry, and transformed it there into lower voltages and BC power. Thanks for the help!

Re: Wooden conductive pipes not working
I don't know exactly what your problem is, but ill take a stab at it.
First, switch back to default texture pack for screen shots, it makes it easier to understand whats going on.
Second, I believe the power limit for quarries is 8 BC energy units per tick.
Energy link converts on a roughly 1 to 1 ratio.
Heres the page for the power convertors mod, the energy link is a ways down, just search the page for the word energy.
2 mfsu's would put out 1024 eu/t, so roughly 1024 BC/t. BC power pipes waste extra energy, so your wasting alot of power. I dont know if this would stop it from working, but you could try just using a batbox. I dont think BC pipes were designed to handle that much power, a steam engine puts out 1 BC/t.
It might be the teleport pipes, they can only teleport across loaded chunks. So if your base isnt loaded, or the quarry is pretty far away, it might not teleport.
I dont know if it will make a difference, but try putting wooden then stone power pipes between the tele pipe and the quarry.
Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but did you check your receiving pipe to have "can receive" checked on? Without that it will not accept incoming power. Even if you waste a ton of energy, it should still be pumping it out just fine. As suggested though you might consider stepping it down with some transformers to something more usable.
Thanks for the replies, and the teleport pip on theother side is set to "can receive". I have als tried to test 1 single combustion engine on a refinery with a wooden conductive pipe and a gold conductive pipe, but that didn't work either. I'll try to transfer the energy to lower EU/t first.
-
Hello, I'm having a problem with wooden conductive pipes. They don't extract power out of electrical engines, nor out of energy links, other engines, etc. I made this setup (to test it), which consists of 2 MFSU's charged up to 10000000 EU, outputting energy in glass fibre cables, which transfer it into an energy link to output it in a wooden conductive pipe, then it goes into a gold conductive pipe, and then into a teleport pipe, which is set to the same frequency as the one at my quarry. (in this case, I used a refinery, for the sake of testing)

Since i need more space in my base to prepare for the update, i have to move it 30-40 blocks down. The base is big and complicated, so it would actually be easier to just blow it up and make a new one. But since WorldEdit can move blocks down, this would be super easy. But WorldEdit cannot set damage values on some blocks, so RedPower wires become to slabs, all machinery turn into generator's or machine blocks and all cables turn into copper cables. Same with computers, all data on the computers are lost and their orientation changes. So, is there anything to do to have WorldEdit save all that data and restore it?
I don't think so, had problems myself with this, sorry :/
Maybe you can just make a whole new part of your base?

You can also use a black hole band in a chest to collect the items (expensive)
Or you can use redpower 2 transposers to collect the stuff
As for the chests, you can use either alchemical chests or iron/gold/(silver?)/copper/diamond/crystal chests
