Eh heh heh I'M SO FUCKING HILARIOUS!
No but seriously my brain is melting, we have a course in circuit analysis and are expected to have 100% of the assignments (1 per week) 100% correct. Because why would you accept anything less than perfection?

Obviously we've progressed past the honeymoon stage with our voodoo enslaved girlfriends and now need escorts for variety to satisfy our manly desires.

Apparently the profile the spammers have of us is Lifetime Original Movie Antagonist.

What, you got too many of them?
Seriously though, what list are these bots going on? "Defence colony" "Friends colony" "Aerocity". "Yes I'll have one prostitute delivered via a spanish airport shuttle".
When did we go from Ugg boots to call girls, voodoo, and "Love Marriage problems solutions"?

Heh. History of the kitty jail.
OBS: The forum used to change the picture of banned members to a picture of a kitten behind bars, with the words "kitty jail".
A user made a post with a picture of her cat in a box titled "Kitty Jail" as an inside joke. That was 3-4 years ago. The thread promptly got derailed, and the mods decided that they might as well let people derail the crap out of that specific thread so they'd stop derailing other thread. We reached some 900 pages before the original thread was lost, and now we're on Kitty Jail 2 instead.
Some kind of weird ever-changing community evolved from this mess, but I'm not quite sure how to describe it.

EDIT:  Turns out Waybackmachine had some pages saved . Aaah, nostalgia.

My prediction; spells for getting rid of spambots. It's brilliant, really. The advertisement itself would create a need for the product.

Anyone else remember the time when we got like 8-9 of us all playing Of Guards And Thieves at once? (That cops & robbers game.)
    That was the best day.

That is pretty good.  That i5 and 970 are well balanced which is all too rare for a prebuilt, even gaming ones.  The 970 is very powerful (although DX12 won't be as good for current Nvidia cards as it will for AMD's, but widespread DX12 adoption is still several years off anyhow) aside from the obligatory 3.5 out of 4.  I say go for it.
That's terrible.  Definitely not a better deal.  It may have a hexa-core i7, which is good although definitely overkill for gaming, but it comes with a GTX950.  Definitely very poorly balanced, and not favorable for games at all.  And on top of that it comes with only a SSD with no additional HDD, there's no Wireless Internet, no monitor, and not even Windows.  Adding all the options to match the Acer brings the total to 2120.70€.

They embody fractured philosophers' stones, made from the souls of hundreds of innocent? I'm having a hard time keeping the FMA ball rolling.rolling. rolling on the riveeeer
In other news, Windows seem to be intent to fuck everyone over, not just those that installed windows 10. They force user-tracking updates on W7 and W8  users.
Perhaps it's time to cram a penguin onto my hard drive and make it drunk enough to think it can run games designed for windows.

I can't think of a Bieber song that would be worth a soul. Judging from different news stories, I think he just traded in part of his brain.

Wait, what's the equivalent exchange for a half-decent piece of music? Can I just film a bunch of mediocre let's-plays and trade them all in at once?
In hindsight, maybe the phrasing, "put their entire soul into their music" is more literal than we thought.
WAIT: This explains everything. This is why pop stars burn themselves out so fast, (Bieber, Miley, et al.) They literally have no soul left. The ones that manage to stay sane are the ones who actually had talent to begin with and never had to resort to alchemy IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW.
Oh hey, the Chinese spam is new.

Seriously though, LMMS is kinda nice, especially for, ya know, not costing an arm and a leg and your brother's entire body.

Always good to have an excuse to re-read threads in the whalebox, I suppose.

This is a "discussion" pulled out of someone's modpack thread, for reasons which probably became obvious upon reading it.  I would like to note that the person asked to move their server post did, and the two (more one than the other) people that insisted on continuing the argument weren't even affected by the post change.

madogdan, you have completely ignored several posts I have made pointing out the differences between the topic types, so I'll say it again.  A server post is not within the bounds of the discussion at hand regarding a modpack.  There's a thin line between the two, yes, but the line is there.  If you were really concerned about defending bizz instead of stroking your own ego, you would have taken the discussion elsewhere instead of continuing to reply.  So 10/10 forum trolling BS, would rate again.

    Ahem.
    <rant>
Personally, the reason I detest "spying" and such is not because I'm particularly worried about the specific entities, for example, MS, NSA, Google, Etc, (Although I do wonder about the NSA sometimes), themselves doing anything bad to me with the data. Like you said, I'm not that important. It's because that data should not exist in the large databases and for the amounts of time that it does. If it exists on a computer, it's steal-able, and thus exploitable, potentially on a massive scale.
Imagine what would/could happen if a malicious nation-state or even just some punk kid in <insert politically correct scapegoat nation here> got ahold of even a fragment of the phone metadata database. Or got into XKeyscore. Or found a list of every app, (and, by extension a list of vulnerabilities), installed on a few millions of peoples' phones. Or whatever other ubiquitous database/system that seems harmless at first but turns out to be devastating when you use it the right way.
I'm not going to pretend that I somehow live without a smartphone, credit card, the internet, etc. But I'm not going to do nothing and be the low-hanging fruit either.
    </rant>
Anyways, with all the fallout 4 hype, I'm surprised no-one posted this:

The Rock-it launcher was a thing already in Fallout 3, firing whatever crap you got your hands on. Always fun to kill someone by pelting them with stacks of dollar bills.
I'm interested in how they're gonna use it with the interesting modding system they have. Will I be able to snipe/shotgun/gatling fire pencils, teddies and random scrap? Will I finally be able to launch grenades with the thing? So very many questions.

ahhh i god damn hate this….
so I've recently moved and i set up my computer and it only boots up to the bios screen, so i had to go and make sure my hard drive was still connected or if it got dis lodged during moving or something, this involves moving all the mono stuff out of the way. i do this find out my hard drive is still attached so i put everything back together and nothing only a blink of my LEDs. so now my PSU is shot (i think it got surged, this is an old building) so now i need to get new PSU before i can use my computer….IF ITS NOT ONE THING ITS A FUCKING ANOTHER THING!!!!

how hard is it for life to just let me shoot some aliens? (Xcom: EW: long war) i mean really…

    /rage rant

PSA: If your Nginx instance is mysteriously refusing to forward requests to upstream servers, check to make sure it was actually compiled with proxy support instead of just assuming. Took me a freaking day and a half to figure out.
Well actually that... that probably isn't useful to anyone but me. But still. The more you know.

Not entirely disappearing. Can't play when the shorty and squeaker are awake (my daughters).

That said, damnitIwannabeplayingrightnow! I can pull unwavering 30FPS on low settings with DX11 in 1280x720 windowed on my 6 year radeon hd 5700. If I drop it to DX10 it frees just enough memory to do 1920x1080 full screen  low settings according to the settings dialog.
Looking at getting an R7 260x or R9 270x to replace my video card. Both should be in my Watt budget and are 2gig cards.
Wish I had the cash to do a real gaming rig, with an fx-8350, R9 290x, 16gig of ram, and a 256gig or bigger SSD.
