Oh man this thread! I was like "man the whalebox hasn't gotten anything new in a while, maybe I should reopen this thing." and wow. A site called dudequest, someone talking about their fedora collection, and about a dozen people saying they're not angry while calling others angry.
I'm glad we could get to the bottom of that bat thing guys!

Why is this topic even open. If someone has any actual questions or concerns or opinions or ideas or whatever else, then make a new thread and we can start over.

You're so painfully clueless. It's actually really entertaining.

Point out to me exactly where in this discussion that people reacted like a raging mob. It's okay, I'll wait.

Spoiler: It's you. You are the raging mob. You're pointlessly attacking Brigadon based on things he said elsewhere that have no relation at all to this thread. He posted an entirely valid set of words (called a paragraph, which you clearly have a very loose grasp of) that demonstrated the point he was making. The "venomous hatred" is you picking this one dude to try and vilify in a discussion that has no relation whatsoever to women's rights or anything like that.

Also, that you think we're being "weirdly aggressive" is absolutely adorable. Clearly you do not spend much time at all on these forums.

E: Also, the rule is against being sexist on the forums. That means provably saying things that are sexist, not posting sexist things on completely different sites. And before you argue that Brigadon's post was sexually motivated, please keep in mind that since he didn't write anything that was sexist, the only way that you could know if it was sexist would be if you are Brigadon.

Unless he's posting about it here on the Technic forums, it's both irrelevant to the discussion at hand and not my fucking problem. What he talks about outside of the Technic forums doesn't magically make his point that FPSFurry sucks at offering constructive solutions to (nonexistent) problems invalid.

In case that went over your head: You're a fucking idiot, please shut up and

E: Also, this thread has gone wildly off-topic and it's actually kinda glorious.

I don't understand where you are trying to go with this thread. There is nothing you can do to reverse the flow of time, and change the way the pack was brought out.

What you may see as pack architecture flaws, others may see as a compilation of exciting new features. For example my pack BusinessElite. I have maybe around 4 mods that can all perform the same set of features, yet I keep them all in. Its a matter of choosing which way you want to play. If you have such a large issue with the easiness of the pack, then why don't you make it more challenging for yourself. Judging by the OP you know how to add mods to minecraft, and can conversely remove them. The streamlined release of the modpack does not mean you have to play it that way. You should tune it to the way you want to play.

No matter how many beta testers there were for the pack, there are always going to be small hiccups around launch time. Technic is just putting together the work of many individual modders. There are sometimes going to be problems that they have to rely on the modders for support. Such example would be the morph mod breaking down last night. Although the pack did not require an update to fix the problem, people had to contact iChun because an edit to an online dependency was broken. It is not always going to be fixable that quickly.

If you really see this pack as such a failure, then I don't see why you bother with it. Your 'simple dissapointment' does not reflect the entire technic modpack playing community. I for one, like tech mods, and found hexxit kind of stupid and boring. I just went and played the packs that I really did enjoy. I never went to the forums and began to complain. I just don't see how dwelling on this helps anyone. Maybe if you go and get super famous on the internet, the technic team will compile a pack specially for you.

Now this is just silly shit.  This is a discussion board, you posted an opinion, people who disagree with that opinion will make posts disagreeing with it, and people who agree will make posts agreeing with it, and that's how this shit all works.  Now, you posted "I don't like the way Technic made Thing" on the official Technic boards- there are going to be more people disagreeing than agreeing with you.  Certainly, I'm gonna come in here and tell you I think you're wrong, that everything went into the pack the way it did for a reason and I'm going to tell you what those reasons were.  If you want to define that as kool-aid drinking, that's your prerogative I guess (but it's dumb), but you don't get to demand that only posts in support can post in here- that's not how message boards work.  Hell, that's now how LIFE works.   The issue isn't that we need to go back and re-read your OP, the issue is that you need to uncurl yourself from the fetal position and respond to some portion of the conversation that's occurred since the OP, in some manner, instead of just writing it off as "kool-aid".

At the very least you need to ask yourself exactly what you want from this conversation, because at this moment, it seems what you wanted was a hugbox, and that reflects very poorly on your character.

In reading over this thread, I have come to the conclusion that FPS Furry does not, in fact, want people to discuss the varying merits of B-team but rather wants a soapy hugbox of people agreeing with him, with the occasional poorly-worded strawman argument or personal attack for the Yes-Men to utterly dismantle.

Honestly, there's really nothing wrong with thinking the modpack is boring. You're entitled to your opinions, and it's fine to not enjoy the modpack. Saying Technic as a whole has jumped the shark is a bit strong, and doing literally nothing but complaining about what you don't like in the pack while refusing to offer actually constructive criticism is just silly.

Personally, I love the concept behind B-team. A big damn box of awesome toys alongside enough tech-tree automation to scratch that particular itch is a great idea and is something I applaud.

    This is incorrect.

This is correct, with one caveat: if someone violates your TM, you are responsible for protecting it, typically with a cease and desist letter followed by a civil suit if that doesn't work.  If you fail to protect your trademark, you go the way of the escalator, though in your case being genericized is...unlikely.  Disclaimer: IANAL, but I have been to a couple of small classes on IP protection, given my occupation.
