NM, solved the problem. Router was no loopback, but people from outside the network can connect with the IP just fine.

Title: Port open, still can't connect by IP
Version: 0.5.1
OS: Windows 7 Professional
Java Version: 6 update 30
Description of Problem:
Since installing .65 I can't by IP despite the port being open. I realize my Java version is old, but I only want to update it as a last resort, as this will take hours I don't have (simply installing the new version makes my computer claim to see the old one, despite a restart).
Error Messages:
For some reason these aren't saved in serve log either:

I can't seem to get it to work. When I set up essentials I only got a groups.cfg, none of the other ones. I did get a database file that shows gibberish when opened in notepad++ so I assume it's for commands. I manually created the other files, by copying and pasting the sample permissions set up in this thread. This had no effect. I'm trying to set up a server such that even the default group can go ahead and build without a whitelist. I copied the permissions from the member group to the default, but it had no effect. I was not able to place players into the member group by using the files I created. What did work however is adding people to it using the command, but the command did not work for altering permission files. I got a response saying it was set to true for the guest group, but they still couldn't builds unless manually added to the member group by command.
Anyone knows what's going on? The thread says all the cfg files should be created on startup, but I only got groups.cfg even when I removed essentials and added them back in.

BTW, I searched and didn't find anywhere how to actually update tekkit lite. So far I've been doing it manually lunching the new server and copying all the stuff, is there another way?

I'm trying to set up a server, and I can't find some of the needed information on the forge essentials wiki. Namely I need to know how to set up the economy, and enable players to protect plots of land (allowing them the ability to sell these plots would be a great feature as well.) Can anybody help with that?

Is there a map generation plugin for tekkit that generates the map without skipping over the redpower world content? I've tired WorldBorder and not a single volcano generated, neither did limestone/marble forgot what its called. Is that normal for all auto gen plugins or did someone find one that worked?
-
Is there a universal item ID config? If so I can't find it. Is it a separate file for each mod, or maybe a forge mod I can get as an addon that will contain all of them?

Same thing with 3.1.3 and 3.1.2 I first noticed it this morning after a windows 7 update. I have win 7 pro 64 bit.
My localhost server says I was disconnected due to taking too long to log in.

Ten minutes after making my last post I finally found some, I wasn't evening mining, just pumping out lava for a geo plant. Guess I was just getting unlucky, I know I can make them other ways but I needed to know specifically if they do spawn naturally on the map in tekkit and whether my TC map was glitched to not spawn them. Guess everything is fine.
-
Unlucky. They occur most frequently is layers 12-16 and only 8 spawn per chunk.
Is it 8 per chunk guaranteed or only the max?

This is Tekkit! make a divining rod and learn how to use it.
EE is disabled completely.

I have been mining in my tekkit world for a while now and a can't find a single diamond naturally. I have about 3 stacks of both copper and tin, 3 stacks of iron and almost a full stack of gold. I vanilla I would have found one by now. Have they been severely nerfed in spawn frequency in this mod or am I just unlucky?

I can't seen to be able to connect pipes together in build craft, when I place one next to the other they just appear as separate cubes. I tried wooden pipes, and wooden conductive pipes so far, the do the same. Gold conductive pipes work for some reason. Other pipe types connect fine, except cobble won't link up with other types, but wooden doesn't work at all.

I want an energy based economy, that's why I wan't to disable a lot of the renewable stuff. I'm fine with charcoal because it still requires you to gather the wood, or build a machine to farm it, and I'm fine with that.
-
Keep in mind that if you disable even the low output renewable energy sources, like solars, you'll start seeing people build horrifying lag monsters like redstone engine arrays.
Plan to disable those as well, not sure how I want to do it yet though, I may ban converting BC power to EU all together by disabling the energy generators, or even the redstone engine itself.

Anyone know of a way to disable the mining laser's terrain breaking ability? It's such a cool pvp weapon but when used to mine it's far too broken.
-
AFAIK, nuclear power IS renewable, not finite. With breeder reactors, you can breed more spent uranium than it takes to breed it, allowing you to run the reactors indefinitely, without any mining.
After checking the wiki I found that depleted isotope cell is a recipe requiring a near depleted cell and coal dust, so disabling that recipe should take care of that problem. Thanks for pointing it out.

Tekkit post
Hello, I want to convert a bukkit server to tekkit and have questions mostly regarding nerfing some of the plugins.
I know I can disable the recipes, I like a lot of those broken items and believe they could be made to be balanced by amping the energy requirement. I didn't find any file that lets me do this in the configs, did I miss something? If there in fact is none is there any bukkit mods made for scaling tekkit stuff?
Energy Sources: I already disabled EE completely, and I plan to disable recipes for the renewable energies. I don't want to disable nuclear power, but want to decrease its output significantly.
Buildcraft Stuff: in the buildcraft wiki it told me that quarries and certain other machines that normally require at least a steam engine can be made to run off a redstone clock, made with vanilla components. Is this still true, because it seemed like this was changed in later versions? If it is how fast/slow is it? I prefer to avoid having free energy like that unless it literally takes an hour or more to quarry a block of a redstone clock.
The mining laser: while a cool item as a pvp weapon I'm concerned about its terrain destructive abilities, is there anyway to nerf those as well? I didn't find any other futuristic or modern weapon in the pack, and it seems if I disable it, I'd be left with a musket, is there something I missed.
Last thing, in the video it shows a moving airship, is that still in tekkit, I didn't find it in the mod list on the website.

I can't seem to get it to work. I installed both builds one at a time, neither work and crash at launch. Here's the log from the 257 build.
I'm running W7 Professional 64 bit OS
