    Finals are done. Finally.
Let me know which one you want to do, so far I'll take your responses as Luke being for Factorio and Dwwojcik being for Minecraft.

School is absolutely nuts. I don't know if I ever mentioned what I'm doing these days.
Boiled down it's mechatronics with co-op and a multi semester capstone project that I'll be working on all summer to finish with a team of 12 other students.
Good news is that I already have a monster of a job offer that'll be kickass and pays a stupid amount. I'll be able to get a Vive really soon after I start!
It's been nothing but work work work even on my time off. That said I have a week off at the moment so:
I'm lovin 0.15 right now and it would be awesome to play with you guys again for as long as I've got the time to!

IIRC, the devs off-the-cuff said early February at one point, but I'd be hard pressed to find where I read that again.

Judging by the parts you have money burning a hole in your pocket!
If you have that much to burn, upgrade to an i7 XXXXK so you get the hyper threading, and a bigger SSD. I went with 128 and wish I had gone bigger. Also consider doing a custom water cooling loop for bonus points in looks!
If you want somthing more price to performance, down scale to a non-K processer (seriously, OCing does next to nothing for games anyways), drop the AIO cooler and go with an aftermarket air-cooler. Literally anything is better than stock. If you're dead set on the 1080 (I dont blame you) then great, otherwise a 1070 is going to be more than enough for the foreseeable future in terms of even the most demanding VR applications. Hell, a 1060 (when it comes) will likely be enough for a few years down the line.
Also look into people who are dropping used 900 series cards in your local area. If you can get a good deal on a 980 or even 980ti, that should be more than enough to power AAA games for the next few years.

    Optifine!

Optifine is very easy to add to your pack. Simply download it here and extract the zip. Now open your modpack.jar with winrar and drag the extracted files into the jar. Close out and save the changes. Congrats! Your done!

    Adding pre-installed servers!
Making your server pre-installed is a major plus for anyone who wants to use your pack on your server!

To do so, go into any old pack and clear all the servers you have saved. Now enter your server ip and name it the name of your server. Exit out and go into the modpack folder and look for the server.dat. Copy that and add it to your modpack with the other four folders (bin, config, coremods, mods) as a separate file. You should now have bin, mods, coremods, config, and server.dat. Now when you add it to archive, highlight the server.dat file as well at the other folders. Now when a user downloads the pack, the server will come pre-installed!

I got this from the FTB forums and some funny stuff came from it there so I'm going to bring it here! I got this from a 118Andrew from this thread.

This game is very simple. Look at the avatar above you, and say why that person should be banned, depending on their avatar (If they have no avatar look at their username and make up a story about them.)

Thats not the right report. The FML report is far more informative on what mods conflicted, and if you suspect more than two mods are conflicting you should install and test the pack one mod addition at a time to avoid the issue. It is very difficult to find the issues when more than 2 mods are conflicting.

I just want to start a thread for the discussion of science chat.
Here are a few things before we get started:

    - If you don't have a question and cannot contribute, don't bother pressing the post button.

    - Theories should be loosely backed up by fact. We don't need somebody posting that a moon of Jupiter is made of cheese.

    - Please make reference to credible sites for basic knowledge and people. Not everyone knows that so and so did this important thing.

    - Try to keep things in layman's terms so that others might grasp blinding intellect. If a word has more than 15 letters or has "ology" in it, you should provide some extra explaining.

That's it really. Just make sure you are contributing and referencing facts.

lukeb28 got a reaction from Unehydrodyday in EVE online
Hello my fellow Tekkiters and welcome to EVE online! This started out in Kitty Jail and I'm expanding it out here so we can have a dedicated thread for it as appose to the off topic chaos known in the Jail.

What is EVE online? Well it's only the biggest player controlled MMO out there! Everything from the politics to the market prices are fully player controlled. EVE goes as far to say that every ship that is not a rookie one is player built.

You are who you make your self in this universe. If you like playing the market then you can accumulate the wealth of empires. If you are ambitious you can become the most prosperous privateer. If you are a leader, you can wage war in a galactic scale with army's of other players.

Now, there is a monthly subscription, but at the same time there is not. Players of immense skill and wealth can buy the monthly subscription with In Game Cash.

That is why I come here to spread the word. As I type, I am assembling a Corporation so we may form a supply line to roll in the cash we crave. The more players we have, the bigger the set up we can form and the larger the profit! Right now it is likely everyone will need to buy at least one months subscription before we can get going but past that we should be able to pay our own way.

Come one come all! Lets all take this New Eden for our own!

lukeb28 got a reaction from Unehydrodyday in Character Fiction
With a lot of the regulars here, there are several fictions and creative short stories that go on between members. Many of these are comedic, but the characters always maintain their persona. Now my question is, what is your persona? Who is your fictional character in which you help to shape the fiction that is the online world. I'm not asking for a "Oh I'm a funny guy." I am looking for a creation story. Something that shows who your character is, not just saying it aloud.

Lets be creative and have some fun here! Who are you Technic?
