In order to allocate more than 1 gb of ram (cause the game kept crashing) i wanted to change to a 64bit- version. The only one available was 1.14 which was saying it is known for causing problems. I tried to lauch pixelmon reforged with it but i just wouldn't open. I tried to find a version (preferably 1.8) in .minecraft folder to get the version, but i could not find the javaw file it needed. Below is a picture with my version option. So what i need is either a guide or a link to get the needed file to get the 64-bit version of 1.8 to 1.12. Anything in between works for me Edit: The problem has been solved. This thread may be closed by the moderators
The launcher will not open if 64-bit Java has been installed, even if 32-bit Java is also installed. 32-bit Java has to be the only Java present on the system. My one and only workaround for this at the moment is to install 64-bit Java on a thumb drive and plug it in AFTER I've opened the Technic Launcher, so that I can choose it in the Java settings and increase the max RAM available. If 64-bit Java is installed on the system, the launcher will load for less than a second and then close, and then a Java error report will be saved where the launcher is located. Attached is one such error report along with a log file from the .technic roaming folder. The Java version is jre1.8.0_65. My OS in Windows 10, with 16GB RAM. Let me know if you need any more information about my system to tackle this issue. hs_err_pid11128.log techniclauncher_2015-10-25.log
Heyo! So I downloaded the launcher, and tried to play Tekkit Legends or whatever it's called, but I could never load a world. Said it needed more memory. I looked up the issue, and (as was recommended) I downloaded Java 64-bit, because I do indeed have a 64-bit system. Except that if there is a 64-bit Java on my computer, the launcher won't launch. I've tried running as admin, but that just brings up the little "Launch as Admin?" pop-up, then a brief loading sign on the mouse, then nothing. It never even shows up in task manager. The only way it will launch is if the only Java version is 32-bit, but then the mod packs won't work because they don't have enough memory. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, here, guys. Halp!
I've tried both Java 7 64-bit and Java 8 64-bit and both all cause Technic Launcher to stop working all of a sudden. Only 32-bit is working now.. I need 64-bit so I don't have to uninstall Java 32-bit and reinstall Java 64-bit every time I need to use a 64-bit Java application. I am using Windows 7 64-bit. This never used to happen although..
