  6. Hi, and this is a tutorial on how you can install the Voltz modpack for 1.6.4! Make sure you have installed the technic launcher and logged in using your minecraft account! Step one: Go to Voltz and click modpack settings. Step two: Click Latest under select version. Step three: Click the X up at the top right corner, that saved the setting, then click play. When you click play, the launcher will Prompt you to get a update. Click yes, and it will update it to Minecraft 1.6.4! Hope this helped!
  7. Hey there guys! So, I've been looking around for quite some time, trying to figure out how to install shaders on Tekkit Classic, and I really couldn't find any proper tutorials. I've finally succeeded yesterday, and decided to make a quick tutorial on how it works. So, without further ado, I show you, a proper tutorial on how to install SEUS on Tekkit Classic! As simplistic as it gets! (You'll also get TreeCapitator, because why not). I hope this helped! Have fun with your shaders! For the curious among us, the font of the logo and text on thumbnail is Guardian.
  8. I know its not as important as some of the other posts in this thread, so i completely understand if this isn't responded to anytime soon. Though I have never really gotten too far into Aotbt and I feel like other experienced players could give me a few tips and maybe just a little info on the important mods. If this thread is successful, it wont be just to help me, it could help all new beginner players. Anyways, thanks to anyone who comments below to help. Ill also try my best to add any of the helpful info and their respectable owners into the thread so people don't have to scroll through all of the comments to find what they need. ~The most generalist generally general advice~ "Since you are aiming in a very general direction it is hard to come by with something more precise then general advice But basicly things that one should tackle first after having a save hide out and a sufficient food supply are: - Advanced Weaponary (Tinkers Constructs) - Energy Generation (Thermal Expansion) - Body Modification (Advanced Genetics) - An automated Storage System (Project Red Transportation) From there on it pretty much depends on personal tastes. You could go the automation and machinery route ... be creative as hell ... get into witchery or just explore. Depending on your taste a different subset of Mods from the pack will be interesting for you. In general I would have a look at some of the guys from the original server and their series, which are just perfect introductions to various topics." -BrowserXL Cant find what you came here to look for? 9. This is my first time making a modpack, and it is unsuccessful. I have been through loads of tutorials but non seem to fix my problem. The problem is - not downloading the pack - but launching it. I press the "Play" button on the right hand side, briefly the 'Mojang' page appears, but then minecraft minimises and it returns to the Technic launcher. Here is my modpack page: Here is my modpack: And my crash report: Note: -Forge version is installed (it's the latest) -I have java 64-bit -Modpack is minecraft version 1.6.4 -Pack is intended for Private use
  10. Intro: Attack of the B-Team is a mod pack that is (of course) on the Technic Launcher that gives the player a LOT of new things to do and so many goals to complete. Unlike some 'packs that are centered around one idea and most of what you do revolves around that idea, AotBT has mods that give the mod pack multiple ideas. You may want to go to space and set up giant moon colonies and maybe even make your own death star. You may want to become the ultimate mutant, with all the abilities you can imagine. You may even want to become death himself! Whatever you want to do, you can do it in this mod pack. Needless to say, this is one of my favorite mod packs in Minecraft. I've tried playing this pack many times and I've learned the mods well. I made this thread to help new players understand the mod pack so that they can take advantage of it all to help them be the best out of every player. How this guide works: The way this thread works is that I will cover multiple mods that are useful in the 'pack, with a tutorial of what you can do with that mod and how the mod can assist you. Here's an example: The Best Mod - Let's you be best This mod it useful with the bestness you can best with. Best. For this mod, some of the things you'll need is: -Proness -Being cool -Having no life -Spending 9 hours on video games So, you have to take all the stuff and then you combine them into a sandwich and then you eat it and then you're the best. Useful for: -PVP- You can stare at people and they give you their money. -PVE- Zombies explode when they see you. The Actual Tutorial Tinkers' Construct This mod is useful because of the tools provided, the ease of ore multiplication, and alloy creation. For start this mod off, you need: -Tons of clay -Tons of sand -Tons of gravel To help you get into this mod, you should put your first house near a body of water so you have a close resource of clay and sand, two important things in the mod. To start the mod, you need to make the following things: -A smeltery set- A smeltery is a player-built structure made of seared bricks. The structure, in detail, is made from: 18 seared brick blocks 1 Smeltery Controller 1 Seared Tank 1 Drain 1 Faucet 1 Casting Table The smeltery is made in this shape: + + + Key: + + +: Seared Brick + + I: Drain =I + =: Faucet + [] 0 T: Casting Table []: Smeltery Controller 0: Seared Tank Floor below that level of smeltery is as follows: + + + + + + T + + + Once you complete the shape, you must put lava into the tank. With the smeltery fully set up, you can add ores into it via the controller. The smeltery cooks slowly, but it gets double metal from ores. The tier 1 smeltery can only cook 9 ore at a time. However, you can upgrade the smeltery by adding seared bricks on top the smeltery, keeping the shape. -A stencil table -A part builder -A tool forge/builder To start making the amazing tools, you need the parts. The first thing you need to make the tools is a stencil of the parts. Put a wooden stencil into the stencil table and browse thru the stencils until you find the one for the part you need. Use this cast at the part builder with a basic item, like wood, bones, or stone to make the part. You cannot do this with metals like iron or aluminum, you must use a cast at a smeltery with the metal (explained later). When you have all the parts you need, select the tool in the tool forge, put the parts in, name it if you wish, then take it out of the tool forge. The tools you can make are as follows: Broad Sword: Moderate damage sword with normal swing speed. The sword also features a block that cuts damage from enemies in half. Long Sword: Similar to the BroadSword, other than it cannot block, but instead can let you lunge forward in the air. Rapier: Very small damage sword, but with faster swing speed and armor piercing properties. Instead of blocking, this sword lets you back pedal (jump backwards). This sword is my personal choice for PVP, since it ignores armor and does slightly more damage per hit against an enemy with the best armor than a Cleaver (mentioned below), and can hit extremely fast. It's low damage is weak against mobs, but very useful against a player. Cleaver: This sword does VERY high damage with slow swing speed. The sword can block, but it is not as good as the Broad Sword. This sword is useful against mobs, with the high power it can deal with a creeper in two, if not one, slice. This sword is weak against players since their armor can protect against the cleaver's damage, and the slow swing gives you a disadvantage in combat. It's high damage is useful against mobs, but is weak against players. Dagger: A small blade with low damage and somewhat fast swing speed. You can throw daggers at enemies as a throwing knife, meaning it is suggested to make multiple daggers with medium-grade metals, like iron or aluminum. Pickaxe: Your regular pickaxe! Lets you mine stuff at a standard speed. Hammer: Slightly slower than the pick, the Hammer can mine in a 3x3 area for faster area clearing. Useful for making underground rooms. Shovel: Your regular shovel! Lets you dig up dirt, sand, clay, gravel, etc. Excavator: A shovel that digs in a 3x3 area. Hachet: Your regular axe! Lets you chop wood quickly. Lumber Axe: An axe that can fell any size tree! Allows easy tree harvesting. Waraxe: A two sided axe with the abilities of: felling small trees, mining wood in a 3x3 area, and getting a speed and damage buff by holding right click. More useful when paired with a high-tier Cleaver, allowing for charged attacks that can instantly kill some mobs. Frying Pan: Somewhat poweful melee attack, with the ability to be placed down and can cook food on the spot. Chisel: Crafting tool that can turn some items into their chiseled versions with other versions if you chisel the block multiple times. The chisel can be used as an alternative to cooking grout to make seared bricks by chiseling seared stone (stone in a smeltery). These tools are special, but are only made of things like flint, wood, and other weak materials. To make full use of the mod, you must turn to your smeltery. First thing you need in making metal tools is a cast. To make a cast, you must put a pre made part down onto a casting table, then pour gold or aluminum brass onto the part to make a cast shaped in the outline of the part. Pour the selected metal into the cast to make the part. There are two special metal alloys that are very useful in these tools: Alumite and Manyullan. Alumite is an alloy that is just about as powerful as diamonds, other than the pick can't mine obsidian. Alumite is made when iron, aluminum, and obsidian and inside a furnace at the right numbers. This pink alloy can mine the two ores added to the Nether: Cobalt and Ardite. These two nether ores combine to make the next best ore, Manyullan. This purple allows can mine obsidian, has a high speed, and is one of the best alloys for swords. So you have the best metals in the mod, you feel at the top of the world. But it's not over. You can improve your tools further using tool modifications. Each tool starts off with a certain amount of modification slots, but can be improved by using paper somewhere in the tool and using a gold block with a diamond to add a modifier. This also works with a nether star. Modifications can improve your tools tremendously, and most are as follows: Moss: Adding a ball of moss (9 mossy cobble) to the tool makes the tool seem to be "alive", giving it the ability to rebuild it's durability over time. Piston: Gives swords more knockback. Can be put on multiple times for more effect. Redstone: Gives block breaking tools faster speed. Can be put on multiple times for more effect. Lapis Lazuli: Gives luck and fortune to tools. Can be put on multiple times for more effect. Silky Gem: Gives silk touch to block breaking tools. Obsidian and Ender Pearl: Gives swords an extremely high chance to drop the enemies' head. Can be combined with Minefactory Reloaded's Auto Spawner to farm for wither heads for use with Witchery and getting nether stars from the wither. Quartz: Gives swords sharpness. Can be put on multiple times for more effect. This mod lets assists you with just about everything. From melee fighting to mining to multiplying ores, this mod lets you be advanced in it. More mods will be added to this guide over time. If I missed anything very useful in a mod, wrote incorrect information, or want me to post a certain mod, reply whatever it is on this thread.

  12. Hello everybody, yesterday I have started my own Youtube channel with tutorials for "Attack of the B-Team". The tutorials are in german language and are intended for the german native speakers here, which have a hard time coping with english. In the german language area its is lacking some tutorials to cover the various mods and I hope to close some of that gap with these tutorials. So check out my Youtube Channel, or get in touch via Twitter. See you around B

  15. Hi guys. Finally have some time for a short tutorial for the newbies. Have you wanted to travel really quick to your oil field desert? Maybe you've been in a sticky situation underground and needed a quick getaway? You are sick of the pigment coming out of your portal? Never fear, Mystcraft Link Books are here. You can get away fast to your base, return from the Nether or setup a teleporting outpost somewhere in the quarry site and the other in your home. Here's a quick tutorial for the Link Books with Mystcraft. I will not discuss the basics of NEI here. You will need to find some recipes yourself. --------------------------- Chapter One: Standard Link Book (teleport from other dimensions). 1. You will need an ink mixer, oh here's one (the wood planks colour is not important): 2. We need to place it somewhere... 3. How about right clicking it... Yes, you will need an ink vial and some paper, go get it, kill some squids and grow some sugar cane / put some wood in the pulverizer, craft some ink vials. 4. Put the ink vial and paper in the left slots or shift click to auto fit them. (Oh, it turned black and you've got an empty vial and something in the right side.) 5. In the bottom right slot is the linking panel. Get it from there. (What do you do with it?) 6. You can craft a Link Book. You need some leather and a crafting table. (A grey book... Pffff...) 7. It is unlinked. You need to link it first do a destination (to a spot). Grab it and put it in your hand. 8. Right click with it in the air (use it). You will see: (What the hell is this...?) This is the the target for this book. Overworld (the target dimension) because you've linked it here to this very spot where are you standing now (target coordinates). 9. Press E or Esc to exit... Yeah. It's green now (it is linked). Can you test it? No. This is a standard Link Book with teleporting capabilities to a different dimension. This won't teleport you from overworld to overworld. Only from other dimensions to get back. Yes, you can test it in the Nether. 10. Go to a different dimension. 11. Right click with it in your hand. 12. Click the blue-ish area on the right side. Yes, it looks better now. In the overworld it was greyed out or something. (What in heavens is this...? What's that sound...?) And you are in the spot again. Just fine and everything. But wait.... . . . . . . . . . . . . (Where's the book?!? It's gone. Where is it?) Right where you left it. Mystcraft teleports you, not the book. You've got teleported. The book didn't. It never does. It's there where you left it. (Wait a minute... It has health - hearts?) Mystcraft book when left on the ground (it's an entity) has its health and can be 'killed'. Beware when leaving a book down it can get damaged and go.. puff. To pick it up right click on it on the ground (don't kick it to the lava) and drag it from the left side of the book GUI to your inventory (when grabbed the books GUI will close and show inventory). If you want to avoid the book dropping craft a Bookstand.... ....and put it down in the source location... ...then put the book on it (right click) And there you go. You made it to the end of chapter one. Now you have a working one way teleporter from other dimensions. You can setup a reverse path to it. Link the book in the Nether and carry it home and place on a Bookstand (no more pigmen). This one can be stationary (Bookstand) or portable when in other dimensions (carry the book by your side) but it will be dropped when you use it without a Bookstand. Warning: Linking books are very fragile, even on a Bookstand. One direct hit of a Ghast fireball and you can be stranded here for ever. TL;DR 1. Craft ink mixer 2. Fill with ink and paper 3. Craft Link Panel 4. Craft Link Book with leather 5. Link it (right click), goes green 6. Go to other dimension 7. Use book 8. Magic. Teleported me home. 9. Where's the book? 10. I'll put it on a Bookstand next time. --------------------------- Chapter Two: Link Book with intra-linking (teleport from anywhere). This one tells you how to get an Intra linking effect on the book. 1. Do everything from chapter one from points 1 to 4. Get some pulverized gold (or some ender pearls). One stack should be enough if you're lucky (gold - 64, pearls - 16). I used gold. This will bring you to 2. Throw some pulverized gold to the dark circle (to the ink) Now the circle starts to change colours. Seen green. This is an additional positive effect on the produced linking panel. Seen red. This is an negative effect. The duration of the colours is the chance you will get an effect. It all is about chances. I've been lucky today. I've got my resulting panel the second time (with the effect I wanted). 3. Pull it out of the right bottom slot and hover over it. You want Intra Linking. Trust me. Don't wish anything more. If you stumble upon the Disarm effect be very careful as it will strip you from your inventory when teleporting with a book made of that panel. I'm not responsible for playing with the negative effects in books. I, personally, had my Disarm panel thrown in the trash. The complete list with the effects for the curious is here. 4. Go and do everything from points 6 to 9 from chapter one. Now you have a linked book with Intra Linking effect that can teleport you from anywhere (any dimension) to anywhere (any dimension) and you can teleport inside one dimension from one spot to another (and back with a second Intra Linking Link Book). 5. Go do something with this new knowledge. Warning: Linking books are very fragile, even on a Bookstand. One direct hit of a Ghast fireball and you can be stranded here for ever. If you link a book to a spot and then build a mountain in this area.... I don't know what will happen. Test it creative obviously. You're at the end of chapter two. You've made it. TL;DR 1. Craft ink mixer 2. Fill with ink and paper 3. Add some gold 4. Craft Link Panel with Intra Linking 5. Craft Link Book with leather 6. Link it (right click), goes green 7. Go to wherever you go 8. Use book 9. Magic. Teleported me home. 10. Where's the book? 11. I left it on a book stand this time. -------------------------------------- Have fun. Don't kill yourself If you see anything wrong in my starters guide or have some additional info leave me a PM or post it here.

  22. Hey my fellow minecraftians, I'm IDED of IDEDOnline and the youtube channel of the same name. I make tutorials based on specific mods rather than mod packs so they are shorter and easier watching and can be picked up based on the mod you want to use rather than sitting through 30 mins of lets play to learn just a couple things. I'm still new to the video recording side of things but I have a high quality setup to try and give you the highest quality tutorials for your time. All tutorials have a time index in the details section below the video to help you skip to the exact item your interested in. What unique about my videos? Well I'm a mature gamer at 29 years of age so as you can imagine I have a deeper voice and I come from a entertainment background so public speaking isn't new to me and thus means that my videos are clear and easy to understand, but doesn't mean I don't make mess ups. I do try to keep it interesting and informative with a dash of crazy (I'm trying to hold it back). Series posted are in time order so you can see how my style and quality have progressed so far but admittedly I'm only a month in and I'm getting a lot of views so I must be doing something right, what do you think? any and all responses welcome as I need to learn what I can do to improve. Tinkers Construct Watch the whole series Archimedes ships If you have any questions or suggestions please feel free to comment and I'll try my best to back to everyone.
  23. This is a quick way to collect large amounts of any liquid using the mods in Attack of the B-Team. The modpack doesn't have any built in pumps so I came up with a quick way to collect a lot of lava for easy energy. It can really work with any liquid though. You can clear out a pond of sewage or large areas of water quickly! I know it's not game changing or anything, but I thought some people would find it useful. Let me know what you think!
  24. MULTICRAFT FIX: Alright, So i used to own a hosting company and often people would ask "How do i fix the permgen error! Every time i use mods and bukkit plugins i get this error." Or something around that. Well i was looking around today and there is hardly any website saying how to fix it on multicraft and ALLOT of people asking how to! So here is how! Firstly if your host says they cant do it tell them "Do your research, learn how to host a minecraft business." as it is very basic and you can even ask the devs of multicraft for the answer, which i have confirmed. I'm sorry if that seems a little mean thing to say but i have seen way to many people say that there support tickets don't get answered or they just say "Impossible." How to: So multicraft uses start up lines in the config of each jar.conf file. This can be easily edited by your host. For the hosts go to: Root>Multicraft>Jar or just find where your multicraft file is. In the jar folder edit each jar.conf and where you see: 'Start=' remove all the text on that line! it may look something like this: command = "{JAVA}" -Xmx{MAX_MEMORY}M -Xms{START_MEMORY}M -Djline.terminal=jline.UnsupportedTerminal -jar "{JAR}" nogui And now you removed the line it should look like this: command = Ok now you want to add the command line to fix the permgen error! Easy, becuase i have one ready for you: "{JAVA}" -Xmx{MAX_MEMORY}M -Xms{START_MEMORY}M -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m -Djline.terminal=jline.UnsupportedTerminal -jar "{JAR}" nogui Just put that infront of command = and it should work! so lastly it should look like: command = "{JAVA}" -Xmx{MAX_MEMORY}M -Xms{START_MEMORY}M -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m -Djline.terminal=jline.UnsupportedTerminal -jar "{JAR}" nogui Now for the users: So once your selected hosting business has changed this for all there jar.conf files or just one of them make sure you select the correct one they changed, Most likely it will say it somewhere on there website if they have good support but if not just ask them in a help message. Once you know which one has this command line simply select that jar on the main page of multicraft! then rename your current jar (lets say mcpc+, but it can be anything) and rename the mcpc+ to the jar name in the ''jar file' box. So for me i made a Bukkit Dev.jar.conf file and did the fix in there! so i renamed my BTeam.jar to BukkitDev.jar and selected teh bukkitdev.jar in the drop down menu of the servers main page! Its very easy! So please comment down below if it worked, i will be checking all the time to help fix other mutlicraft errors and the permgen one! MINECRAFT FIX: Although it is rare to get perm gen errors on a server without plugins it can happen (Some mods use perm gen apparently :? ) So if you have a server with a start.bat or where ever your start command is this is the code you should put in: java -server -Xms1G -Xmx12G -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:+AggressiveOpts -XX:+UseFastAccessorMethods -XX:+UseLargePages -XX:TargetSurvivorRatio=90 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=200 -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -jar YOURJARNAME.jar Remember to replace the "YOURJARNAME.jar" with your actual server jar e.g. BTeam.jar & Also remember to customize the ram amount (change the -xMx12G to the MAX ram you want to use!) Thanks! Also i will be making a video on how to fix it soon if people want that. If you have any questions please ask them below!
  25. This is a tutorial for an automated animal farm, this design was tested with Pigs, Cows, and Chickens Open the Spoiler for the video tutorial! The Base Building The farm design itself is a 7x7x7. The bottom two layers are for redstone. So find an area, clear out the 7x7, then surround the inner 5x5 area with a block of some sort (such as glass) 4 high leaving one block on the bottom layer empty on three sides. Then put a roof on it, leaving the center one blank. After that, place slabs on the lower half of the bottom layer of the wall blocks. This will create a 2.5 block high inner area. Note: the image above does not have the hole in the center of the roof, but it should be there. The Machines You will need to make the following machines as well as have the following redstone components: 1 Breeder 1 Grinder 1 Mob Counter 1 Vacuum Hopper 1 Redstone Comparator 2 Redstone Torch 5 Redstone 2 Tesseracts (or additional Energy Conduits and Fluiducts!) 6 Energy Conduits 1 Saw Machine Locations In one of the open bottom slots, preferably across from another hole, place the Mob Counter so it is counting inside of the farm. Opposite the Counter, place the Grinder. And in the final slot, place the Breeder. In the roof ceiling, place the Vacuum Hopper. At this point it should look similar to the following image Note: In the image above, across is the Breeder, to the left is the Harvester and the right machine is the Mob Counter. And the Vacuum hopper in the top. Now break out the blocks from the breeder and harvester to the same corner. If possible, save these blocks. Place one of the two Tesseracts in this corner and run the Energy Conduit from the Tesseract to the Breeder and to the Harvester. Place the second Tesseract on top of the Vacuum Hopper and make the Vacuum Hopper output Experience to the Tesseract on the upper portion. This will be the experience output. Note: Redstone Energy Conduits are used in the image above, but any conduits can be used. The point of this is to get power to the Breeder and Harvester. Redstone Mechanics Under this build, clear out a 1 block high area, 2 if you are unable to morph into a bat. Under the Mob Counter, place 1 redstone dust. Then place the comparator so it is facing toward the Harvester. To the right of the Comparator, place one redstone dust and one redstone torch. Make sure to not toggle the Comparator into subtraction mode (the first redstone torch on the comparator would be on in this case) In front of the comparator, toward the Harvester, place the final three dust. This should lead into a block. The block on the opposite side, under the Harvester, will be placed a redstone torch. Note: The above image had the base building removed to better show off the redstone placed. It can be difficult to see if the building was left there. Finalizing Now, you're almost done. We need to block off the cable from being accessed by the animals (and causing a miscount on the Mob Counter, or escaping from the pen) so using the Saw and the blocks you (hopefully) saved from clearing out, cut them down into Panels or Covers and cover the cables up from the inside. Once the energy conduits are covered up, you can then safely place in two of the desired animal (Pig, Cow, Chicken) into the pen then fill up the breeder. This will run for quite some time. Additional Changes Here is a list of additional changes you do to make this more automated or more efficient. Auto-fill Breeder from below from your storage system. Place a chest on the back side of the harvester to catch items Then suck those items into your storage Be creative! You can use this farm setup to create two additional pens for the cows, chickens or pigs (depending which one you started with). Just see what I did with mine.
