What is Tame the World? At it's core, The Tame the World aims at 3 Core Elements Difficult enough to please most folks who were looking for a Minecraft that wasn't afraid of them even in Diamond Armor Allowing for Large, Comprehensive, and Aesthetically pleasing builds Rewarding Exploration of both World and Game I was inspired by a few Modpacks that exist out there today, including Hubris, There Will be Blood, and Simplicity. The Truth is that I really liked these modpacks, but each of them had their own elements that really didn't fit with my play style. Hubris world was almost Too harsh, There Will Be Blood's progressions system broke so much from traditional Minecraft that it was difficult to get settled into, and Simplicity was fun and had at it's core what I wanted but lacked certain touches that I felt made the world harsh enough. The objective of the Mod pack is to make the world Harsh and Unforgiving but at the same time still allowing the player to build magnificent structures that show they really can and did tame the world. Exploration should be rewarded with more then simply finding more of an item you can already craft, it should be unique things that don't make the game impossible without, but do make it easier. And Finally I didn't wish to break Minecraft's simple formula too much. Iguana Tweaks and Tinker's construct, these mods are fine on their own right, but I feel that they take away from the heart of Minecraft, they make it so that someone who knows vanilla but doesn't know the modded world would be so horribly at a loss they wouldn't know where to start. I wanted to make it possible for a Vanilla minecraft player to feel like they could get started without Feeling completely at a loss. Blood Magic - I actually added blood magic initially but pulled it from later releases for multiple reasons. The most obvious is that while Witchery, Thaumcraft, and others have a very internalized progression system. Blood Magic's ultimately revolves around it's most central aspect, the blood alter. What it added to the game was more grindy (To me) then thought provoking. Beyond that There were already 3 very competent Magic mods on the list and I felt the addition of a 4th would be overkill AE2 - In Truth? I don't feel it really fits with the spirit of to the mod. It has it's own internalized complexity sure, but much like Tinker's construct (which I am about to get into) I feel it takes an element of Minecraft and devalues it (storage and crafting) to the point where it is no longer really the same game. Sure Botania's little ring hud does similar, but I feel as if AE2 takes an element of play and lessens it. (it was considered though I promise) Tinkers Construct - I like Ticon, I think it's a perfectly good mod... just not for what I'm looking for. I felt that TiCon not only makes the Vanilla Tools Obsolete, but it also makes obsolete the other tools offered by other mods. It completely strips any other mod of their tools because frankly they just won't ever be better. And the primary way to balance it (Iguana Tweaks) makes the game even more unfriendly to new players Ender IO - Aestetically and thematically I just wasn't a fan, nothing against Ender IO, it just wasn't the right mod to feel tine "Industrial side" of the pack CoFH - I thought about this one for a long time, and ultimately I decided the the COFH family of mods just wasn't the right fit. The Progressions wasn't right and It just didn't fit with the Steam Punk feel that i was trying to achieve. What is ____ doing here? Trophy Slots - This one I'm still on the Fence about and I'd like to see how it plays out in Testing. Ultimately I think it could be a very interesting mod for early game, forcing the player to think about their inventory and storage solutions, what is really important on them in those adventures. If it proves to just be an absolute thorn in my side and the players side then we'll drop or tweak it, but for right now I find it interesting Ex Nihilo - What's a Skyblock mod doing in an adventure game you ask? Welll... at it's core I wanted this to really be an options mod. To give the player a choice about how they wanted to move forward with their resource gathering. I'd like to keep it, even if we need to make some changes to help balance it so it's not the /optimal/ source of resources, I want to make sure at the very least if you really just aren't feeling like caving that you do have an option Will you add ____ ? Ultimately this all depends on how good an argument can be made for it to join the pack, that it fits not only the theme, but the intended vision of game play. For instance I'm keeping a close eye on Mariculture because I feel like that could fit the theme and be interesting, but It's one of those things that I'm going to have to test out and feel out where it fits in. There's also things that may still be removed, Maybe Pneumaticraft just feels to different, or perhaps 3 Magic mods is to many, maybe no one actually wants to go to the twilight forest. At this stage I think this is important to sort through Development Stages Alpha These initial builds are basically going to be figuring out /which/ mods I want to move forward with, which really exemplify the theme of the pack the best, helping sort out which ones feel good, and which ones don't. There could be many world resets during these stages as we try to get a handle on the world Generation (What kind of Ores are going to make to the final cut, etc). Think of this as Engine Development Beta Once we've settled on the mods, I'd like to begin to do bug testing and more cross mod integration. At this stage I'd like to add HQM so that we can begin creating not only a lore but also a structure to help the player progress, a guide to let them know exactly what it is, tools wise, that they have at their disposal. Initial balancing tweaks as well in terms of health / etc. All that fun stuff RC Settled on Mods this would be purely balancing trying to get things right, making sure the game feels right at every stage, from the very first time you log into the world, until you are standing upon a monument to your own arrogance Release This will ultimately be mod updates, and keeping things in check Redistribution of any mods or the modpack as a whole without the express permission of modpack and mod authors is prohibted Rehosting of the Modpack (or individual mods) is also prohibited.   2. I got the skystone, click manual submit and clicked claim reward and it does nothing. It says I can claim it but I can't. After, I tried editing it with the op book but it still didn't give me the reward. Please help! Thanks a lot

  4. Hey there everyone. You might've seen me around as the maker of Masters of Minecraft. If not, well, might aswell shamelessly advertize that in the process. ANYWAY, after masters worked out rather well for my first publicly released pack I decided to act on an old modpack idea I had during master's development that I couldn't make at the time due to a mod that was glitched in 1.6.4. Also, due to 1.6.4 stagnating (as far as possible work and additions that could be done on the pack due to most if not all updates moving to 1.7.10 among other reasons) I decided to keep up with the times and make another pack. This pack is: At it's core Aetherwars Infinite is another modpack with a story made up and designed by myself. Where masters of minecraft was built for teamwork, with high levels of resources and overpoweredness which was balanced off with armies of overpowered specialized mobs and side systems to tweak the gameplay, Aetherwars tips the scales even further. In Aetherwars finding so much as one piece of a type of resource and keeping it grants you access to limitless amounts of that resource through the use of aethercraft, a mod with something very similar to equivalent exchanges old alchemical condenser chests and focuses on what can be high impact, unrelenting and overpowered organized pvp or conquest and expansion on a semi-galactic scale. By semi-galactic I mean the world generation I use and recommend playing the pack in for the true experience is from the New biospheres mod. When I say organized pvp I mean that it's meant for groups of servers or friends to get together under predetermined rules and gamemodes and agreements to go at it with each other rather than an openworld setting as I forsee it can become stupidly unfair for late comers. This is wrapped up in a story that has already happened in the past explained from a character of the old world through the hardcore questing book (which I hope to retexture as a datapad eventually...) topped with a soundtrack made from songs handpicked from various games that I enjoy or like that plays under numerous conditions thanks to tmtravlr's Music Choices mod. The beginning of the modpack also encourages teamwork due to a "choose your own class/speciality" set-up that I've made through the quest book for everyone to begin with that is accessible straight from the start (similar to master's starting gear in a way.) As of right now I'm still working away at improving the pack and such but I'd like to have some people to test and share with me their experiences playing either singleplayer or against small groups of friends (provided you tell me in advanced so I can keep track of how many are in). I won't spoil the story here other than say that it's there and that if you play you can give it a read and play it. Yep, chisel mod, carpenters blocks, and that lever is from Zelda sword skills. could also literally turn this into a portal with better portals mod] [This is what happens when you douse a planet in fuel and throw a molotov cocktail at it. Flans mods, artifice (for the fuel) and florbs from thermal expansion for tossing it around] [Ominous rainy night shot! actually taken in survival using a blood magic flask potion with flight and speed on it!] [Here comes the Darknut Squad... The nether is accessible and even in this world, has it's uses. (such as forbidden magic, zelda sword skills, pigmen, tinkers and witchery.] [A high efficiency Aether Generation Plant. Tocherino's grow gunpowder reeds at 400% speed, while block breaks collect the gun reeds and put them into four barrels which are translocated into an aether manipulator to be made into high energy storage items for later use in the crafting area. This one was backlogged within a few hours with more than two double chests full of golden matter worth over 100000 aether a piece. not to mention 64x64x4 stacks of gunpowder reeds in barrels worth 192 aether a piece being fed into the manipulator at 4 a tick thanks to the four translocators. (uses thermal expansion and aethercraft, and torcherino mod. and vacuum hoppers from extra utilities if you can see them.] [A chilling reminder of a planet that used to be there... when will the war end? One launcher is not enough, and may even be a little prudent to host it on one launcher only, so here we are on the Technic Platform, one of the most well-known mapping and modded Minecraft providers available. Our original post is on the FTB forums, Here. We would like to put another forum post, duplicate to the one i hyperlinked on here, but its better if i don't. You are all encouraged to do a little bit a of reading here, because it may benefit you. __________________________________________________ As you probably know, i host a modpack that is currently under development with a few people, and all is going well. However, we need more people for many reasons. This pack is designed to be a large pack with a story, a map, HQM, all that but with a twist and maybe a Youtube series. Here are the positions that need to be filled: Builder, One who can build fast and efficiently with lots of ideas. Structures should be good looking, but not over-expansive or anything. Tester, A low work job, not commonly needed that is usually accompanied by another major job. Tests quests for CustomNPC's and HQM, and screws around doing the most random things testing mods. Quester, someone with enough expertise and literary eloquence to write quests, keep them on the track of the story, and make them interesting. Takes a load off my shoulders. Player, Someone who will be available to do work with acting, as we propose a Youtube series. This is secondary, meaning that you must be able to do this with another job of your choosing. Server Manager, One of the most in-demand jobs here now, with expected reimbursement funding as soon as we get everything rolling. You will host servers, manage them, and host other things, such as a download server that will eventually give the beta release. In managing them, you will have to upload a lot, so a fast internet speed is highly recommended, equipped with port forwarding, and a fast computer as well to top it off. If you can think of another job that supports our team, then feel free to suggest it in the comments. You must have a few requirements met before you can join us: You must be 15 or older, maturity is an issue. You must be positive at all turns, even when something does not swing your way You must have a good background with modded Minecraft, know lots of mods, and be independent with personal issues regarding installation, playing or anything along those lines. Incompetence is not tolerated. You must be ready to do some work, and experience a test of patience, with a positive attitude at all times. We are willing to help and walk through procedures, such as installing the pack once we distribute it to you. We would also greatly prefer a nice girl, since an opinion from the opposite sex is nice for a change. We wont be prude or stuck-up about swearing, or judgmental if you have a thing for another person on the team; anything that benefits you,and the team is good and we will accept it, but you must find balance as well, for the reason of keeping this professional and organized. Shadow and I, Triage, are the coordinators of this pack, and if we give orders, you may question them but orders are orders. All decisions are to be rational, so if one of us decides to become a nuisance or hurt the pack in some way, we will call a vote, and have small testimonials followed by a final, team based decision. ---------

I will, however, point out some key things that people usually want to know: All chunk loaders are disabled except for Railcraft's personal anchor. Requires ender pearls to load chunks. Requires the player to be online to load chunks. We utilize ZERO plugins. Why? Cauldron stopped being updated in Dec '14. That means it can only get buggier! We do, however, use AdminCommandsToolbox, Opis, and Forge Essentials. Basic permission system to keep certain mod commands off limits (or allow players to use certain commands, like cofh friend list) and set custom spawn location. Players also have access to some quality of life commands like /back and /tpa player. Regarding player ranks: To comply with mod developer licenses and wishes, and to comply with the Minecraft EULA, we do not sell items and features, and never will.
