Unlike most human beings, I have a button. I'd prefer it never be pressed, though; bad things could happen.

Light switches (usually) don't have buttons. They're, well, switches. As in, levers, but smaller. Many more technical machines rely on switches/levers to control things rather than buttons, because buttons tend to be finicky in many ways. Combine that finickiness with, say, a jetliner or a nuclear reactor, and you could have problems.
