There...are a couple things wrong with this post. First, it's in the wrong section. There is one for maps. Second, the copyright thing and download goals...are kind of ridiculous. Even if they aren't, what web site are you talking about? Mediafire? The Technic Forums?

So...moving this to Get Lost Grotto. For now.

I don't see how this map is unique. You have to follow a path.

A unique Tekkit tutorial map would be a Tekkit map, where instead of walking towarda path, you can choose which path you prefer to take. Say, I want to learn about Buildcraft first. Rather than taking a path toward IndustrialCraft and ignore it, since you want to learn about Buildcraft first.

What you learnt from this post: Do not make other copies of others, instead make your own that is unique from others.

HAI GAIZ I JUST MAED A KEWL MAP 4 TIKT!!11

http://www.mediafire.com/?cqm1nct5hi8ceyf

I DID IT MASELF! GIMME :diamond:

(This is a joke having as purpose to parody the "copyright" thing OP has going on. All rights reserved Xylord Corp 2-

Okay okay, I'll stop. No offense to you or the map, but this just hasn't got any... credibility. I'd remove it.

Now, some tips on making a map. First of all, I don't know how you did it, but why don't you use another police rather than comic sans size 64? I find it annoying to the eye. Next, the way you used MCedit to remove a chunk of terrain an and put a plane of dirt is very obvious, and very ugly. The result would be much better in a large plain. Next, I don't feel like actually playing the map, but I can see that your windmills are placed in the most inefficient way possible. They're at their best if they don't have any block around them in a 9x9x9 cube of air around them, and you completely cluttered them (Not like windmill are a good energy source anyway ^^). Oh, and drop the creeper heads thing as well, we don't have this around here, and we don't like it much either. Other than that... Well, I'll be honest will you, it's nothing to drool over. Good luck anyway I guess, it's not because you failed a first time that the next won't be better, we all learn from our errors. Now, the idea of Techpriest sounds good : A branch-based ingame Technic-wiki explaining efficiently all the concepts of the pack! That's what I call a good idea.

Not to rip the OP a new one, but his "copyright" is BS. First of all, copyrights require your legal name and have to be registered with the patents office (I think, if I recall correctly). Second of all, all content on this website and most of the internet is licensed under the creative commons license.

For the third point, you do realise that mediafires backup servers are violateing your copyright? The technic forum backup servers (I hope we have some) and all backup servers copy your files without siteing you as the origional creator.

If you feel the need to create some form of legal protection, use this lisence:

<a rel="license" href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/deed.en_US"><img alt="Creative Commons License" style="border-width:0" src="http://i.creativecommons.org/l/by-nc-nd/3.0/88x31.png" /></a><br />This work is licensed under a <a rel="license" href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/deed.en_US">Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License</a>.

On the note of your map, based on the screenys, you may want to think about useing CC screens as a better way to display large ammounts of information in a more user friendly way.

The above work cannot be copyrighted but not for the reasons you mentioned. Read this: http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ01.pdf

If one's work was subject to copyright, publishing it here or on the internet doesn't require one to use the creative commons license or any other license, one is free to choose how one's copyrighted work is licensed.

Great idea for the branching tutorial. Mind if I make one?

I'll get to work on a mod-based branch-type tutorial map, but I can't build for crap. :P IC teleporters!
