So I've set up my first nuclear fission reactor using Atomic Science and followed the recommended setup with a temperature sensor and control rod. I've tested my redstone wiring and threw a fission fuel rod in the reactor. It worked fine and temperature stayed below 600K.

2 days later, I suddenly drown in some sort of radioactive waste filling up my entire base. After respawning (and going to creative mode), I see several huge radioactive waste eruptions going straight trough my base. The weird thing is: my reactor is still working fine and no radioactive waste is even close to my reactor. So where does this come from? Can I clean it up somehow? My entire home base is flooded....

Thanks for any advice.

It's a glitch alright.  But sadly, it's a known one with fission reactor drains.  If you don't drain the toxic waste from your reactor, it will "spill" into the surrounding area in tall fountain shaped structures, similar to natural oil wells.  This is working as designed, but...  Using a reactor drain, you're supposed to be able to pump the waste out of the reactor safely so it does not build up and leak.

The problem lies with the reactor drain.  Even with a setup done correctly, and a pipe pumping the waste out of the drain, the drain sometimes fails to actually drain the waste, leading to "leaks".  It's been reported to Calclavia already on more then one occasion.  Hopefully a fix for this and some of the other problems can be found soon.

Indeed, my toxic waste wasn't draining. I installed a servo on the liquiduct and it's working fine now. However, It's filling up my tanks quite fast. I have the impression that the fission reactor does not work as expected. Temperature only goes up to 400K, the thermometer does not respond (even when putting the threshhold to 200K) and the fissile fuel rods seem to magically refill themselves when I take them out of the reactor and put them back in.

Conclusion: Atomic Science is very buggy...

Hi, I have started a public voltz server which everyone is free to join.  There are no banned items and everything else is pretty much a work in progress, because of this i am also looking for staff to monitor and manage the server such as builders, moderators and admins etc...  If you wish to become staff just let me know and we can go from there   If you want more details just reply to this post and ill get back to you with more information.  Have Fun !!!!

Is there a modpack which combines tekkit classic and voltz?

      Help!
I have been working on a project in Voltz 3.1.2 (1.6.4)
Its a HUGE base which will be for a later project (I'm using creative but making it able to sustain life in survival mode)
I was using coal generators, but wanted to start using nuclear. I built a fission reactor in a secluded, well protected, bomb proof bunker at bedrock and it was working fine. Up until now.
I heard that you have to pipe the liquid toxic waste out, so I put a cobblestone liquid transport pipe and a tank on the bottom of the reactor. about 20 mins later I go back down and toxic waste is EVERYWHERE! The tank didn't fill at all. Since then I have tried many many different orientations, even with the pipe next to the reactor. still the same toxic waste. This is really making me mad. In the older versions of volts all you had to do was build it (which I know I'm doing correctly) and there your done. not anymore. Hate these changes.
Also-what ever happened to fusion reactors in 3.1.2? Kind of a bummer because I use these to power particle accelerators...

      Heya,

Lately I have been tweaking a Voltz server which will go live soon I hope.
However, I'm stuck with this problem of radioactive material (Block ID: 3768)

From various wiki's I understood that this block will spread just like grass blocks (only a bit slower) until all area is covered by radioactive material.
As you might understand that is not a pretty nice thing to have on a MP server and so I would like to disable this block.

Of course it would be possible to disable the placement of this block by players (by using Essentials configuration). However, these blocks are also 'spawned' when using a nuclear cluster missile.
I recall visiting some servers where I was able to use the nuclear cluster missile but the radioactive material wasn't 'spawned'.

I've already checked the config file of 'Atomic Science' but couldn't find anything useful.
      # Configuration file #################### # block #################### block { I:BlockID1=4095 I:"Radioactive Block"=3768 I:accelerator=3783 I:atomicAssembler=3786 I:centrifuge=3769 I:chemicalExtractor=3779 I:controlRod=3774 I:electromagnet=3778 I:electromagnetGlass=3781 I:fissionReactor=3770 I:fulmination=3785 I:funnel=3782 I:fusionReactor=3776 I:instantBuilder=3784 I:nuclearBoiler=3772 I:plasma=3777 I:reactorTap=3789 I:siren=3780 I:thermometer=3775 I:toxicWaste=3788 I:toxicWasteFlowing=3787 I:turbine=3771 } #################### # general #################### general { B:"Allow Layered Turbines"=true B:"Allow Radioactive Ores"=true B:"Allow Toxic Waste"=true B:"Disable Radiation"=false I:"Steam Ratio"=40 D:"Turbine Output Multiplier"=30.0 I:"Uranium Hexafluoride Ratio"=200 } #################### # item #################### item { I:HazmatBody=13766 I:HazmatBoots=13764 I:HazmatBottom=13765 I:HazmatTop=13767 I:antimatter=13774 I:cellDeuterium=13772 I:cellEmpty=13769 I:cellWater=31743 I:rodBreederFuel=13781 I:rodFissileFuel=13771 I:steam=13779 I:strangeMatter=13773 I:thermometer=13768 I:uranium=13777 I:uraniumHexafluoride=13778 I:yellowcake=13776 } #################### # ore_generation #################### ore_generation { B:"Generate Uranium Ore"=true } #################### # potion #################### potion { I:"radiation potion ID"=21 } Does anyone have any idea how I could disable the radioactive material (spread) but still keep the possibility to use nuclear cluster missiles?

      Thanks in advance.
