I need some help with my modpack

Hello everyone,
I made a modpack a short while ago and I am encountering some difficulties. When i click play on the launcher to play my modpack, It first starts verifying some files, then the launcher closes and comes back up, without anything happening. i tried so much to fix this problem and I looked on so many other posts, but I can't find an answer.
Here's my modpack: Click me!

I maybe know what the problem is: config files.
I've looked for tutorials for config files and I couldn't find any.

Thanks in advance

  • It looks like you have extracted some of the mods into folders inside your mods folder. Don't do that. Leave them as the ZIP or JAR archives you downloaded them as.
  • Many of your mods have "odd" names which indicates you did not get them from the author's preferred distribution channels. Never do that. Always get the mods directly from the mod author's preferred distribution channels. (immibis microblocks, PowerCrystals core, Waila, etc.)
  • You have included Buildcraft for Forge/MC 1.7.2. The last version of Buildcraft for 1.6.4 was 4.2.2.
  • You have included an incompatible version of IC2. If you intend on including IC2 in your pack for 1.6.4 I highly recommend looking at this post:
  • You have included OpenBlocks but not the required library OpenModsLib.
  • You have included no config files. The config folder in your modpack archive should contain a full compliment of config files for your mods. These are generated the first time the mods get loaded into Forge. Once you have tested the pack locally and everything is working correctly you should have a complete set of configs. Include this folder and its contents in your modpack archive.

Fix these problems and come back if/when you have more difficulties.

Hi plowmanplow,

Thanks for your help, I solved a lot of issues for me. I still have 1 issue where I'm confused by. When i start my modpack now it actually starts minecraft now (yay) but i get greeted by this message: Link to photo

I don't know how this error can occur, because for what I know, I haven't put any mods on a higher version than 1.6.4

here the link to the updated modpack: Click!

Thanks in advance

That message means you have a mod for 1.7.2 in your pack. Check your ForgeModLoader client log, towards the end, and you should have enough info to identify the offending mod.

Edit:

  • The mod in question is iChunUtil. Make sure you go back and re-download all of iChun's mods for 1.6.4.

Hi,

Thanks for your help, it made the modpack finnaly work. But I messed up again and I need your help.

I had some lag spikes and I wanted to fix them, so I went into my mods folder and tried to delete some mods. But I think I accidentally deleted an important mod and I can't figure out which one I'm missing. Maybe you can't find the problem

Here's the pack: Click!

Thanks again,

  • You have still included almost no config files in your modpack. I cannot emphasize enough how important this is. Without configs you simply DO NOT have a correctly assembled modpack. Your config folder has 4 files in it. It SHOULD have 48 files. Fix this.
  • You have not included Forge Multipart mod in your mods1.6.4 folder. This mod will be automatically downloaded when required, but it will get the bare minimum version required to act as a dependency library. You need to manually download Build #250 and put it in your pack.

As for your pack, I am able to start it successfully. Not sure what else you need.
