Modpack Making 1.6.4 Help

So I've read the whole Technic page for how to make a modpack. I've also watched two different videos explaining it. I've tried it out, and it'll download and run, but it won't open any worlds, or log on to my server... The modpack does run, because I've run it on my own totally fine. I would imagine it would have to be a problem with how the launcher installs my pack.

The problem is, I believe, how the Technic launcher installs forge. The instructions don't really specify how to get forge installed. I’m pretty confused how to add that properly, and how the technic launcher actually creates the pack.

What I've done is I've created a config folder with all my configs, a mods folder with all my mods, and a bin folder where I have the forge universal I downloaded, but the forge file is renamed modpack.jar (this is what both videos said to do).

I tried also including an empty coremods folder (empty because MC no longer has coremods in 1.6.4), but it would always crash. I took out the coremods folder, and for some reason now it loads, but it won't go into any worlds, SP or MP.

If anyone could help me out I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks!

  • Your modpack has a staggering number of item ID conflicts. These will almost surely cause problems when trying to use any of the mods which are conflicting and cause a ton of problems for trying to set up a server.
  • Your modpack does actually start so I'm not sure exactly what you are asking for at this point. Your original post is a bit rambling.

The game starts up, but you cannot enter a world. Why is that? How do I fix it?

I'm surprised you found ID conflicts, because I fixed all the block ID conflicts, and all the item ones I could. I thought there were only like 6 left.

I'd like to know if you or anyone else can explain to me how to include Forge in a 1.6.4 pack.

Thanks!

I'd like to know if you or anyone else can explain to me how to include Forge in a 1.6.4 pack.

This is what I am confused about. You currently have Forge in your pack, correctly I might add. The modpack.jar file in the bin folder is simply the Forge universal jar file renamed to be "modpack.jar".

As for item ID conflicts, open your ForgeModLoader client log and search for the word "CONFLICT" (without quotes). Some may be unresolvable (Iguana Tweaks does "odd/bad" things) but most should be. Flan's often conflicts with itself which will require you to extract the weapon packs and change the IDs inside the text files from the weapon pack.

The pack does eventually start for me and I am able to create and enter a SSP world. Keep in mind that your pack is quite large and you need to be allocating 3G to the launcher to have any hope of running it successfully.

I was planning on using some mods, but when I opened the modpack I intended to use, it just shut down and sent me back to the launcher screen.
I've tried removing the mods, uninstalling and reinstalling the modpack, updating my launcher, updating java, and restarting my computer, to no avail.
Down below is the log in pastebin:

Hello, I didn't know where to put this Thread, sorry for that.
My Problem is that i want to create more than only 5 Modpacks. I have different Packs in different Version and i need them all and i dont want to create constantly an new account just to create a new Modpack. I dont understand why this Action is limited to 5 Modpacks. It makes no sense to me. Is there any way to create more than only 5?
Hope you can help me. ~M3veronMast3r

Hello there. I have been fighting this issue for a while now, but now im mad enough to make a forum post about this. After 2 weeks, i still cannot find any way to solve this issue.
I have updated windows, used DDU to delete my gpu driver, reinstalled my gpu driver, updated my bios, deleted then reinstalled every version and instance of minecraft, java and every launcher, Set the technic launcher to the newest version of java, oldest version of java. Tried running the program from an ssd, checked with another gpu, still nothing. I have sent the logs to the discord bot, but it found nothing out of the ordinary [ Im Matt Moody#0101 ]. I have no idea what is happening now.

      LAUNCHER VERSION: v4.664
      OPERATING SYSTEM: macOS 10.14.6
      JAVA VERSION: Oracle 1.8.0_261 64-Bit
      ANTIVIRUS: none
recently I tried to play some modpacks, but i couldnt start any of them. Every time I wanted to launch them, icon of the modpack showed up in taskbar, window popped up, but after approximately a second, it had crashed.
I tried to solve this problem by myself, but I didnt manage to success. The closest Ive got to solution was in this thread :
However, there is a solution linked on another forum thread, but that link is probably corrupted or something, as it just redirected me to the same thread all over again. Thus Im stuck and seek help. This is a log after one of the unsuccessful launch attempts: https://pastebin.com/Md4yW3yw
For any kind of suggestions or additional information request I'd be very thankful
Okay, fortunately under this post's recommended threads I've found another new thread which stated a similar problem:

The solution right there seems to do the job (at least temporarily), but still, I'd like to know the core of the problem, for example - why 8u251 works and 8u51 doesn't?
      Hope this helps someone someday
