I had this same problem, I told AVG to F off and installed avast instead, its been working fine ever since.

The Technic Launcher saves to a different folder then your original vanilla minecraft, If you want more mods your going to have to install them manually, and hope to god they are compatible, but most are probably are not. Also I think the zeppelin mod is already in the Technic Pack...
