Launcher Version: i don't know

Description of Problem:
When I double click on the launcher it asks me to update it i do and then it says:
'Check the actionʼs properties and try running the workflow again'
And when I try and fix it i look for the .techniclauncher folder i cant find it....
PLEASE HELP ME I want to try technic for the first time
