Can I point out there is about 4-6 other posts about this as well. If you would look, you would see there is an answer in a few of them that would explain it. To put it simple for you, no one can connect, minecraft login is down currently. Please learn to be patient and wait for a further update.

Ok, I got around this by deleting the tekkit component file etc and reloading it via launcher and now works. Potential problem if it occurs again?

I've been looking for a forum about this and can't find anything. This has happened now 3 times in a row trying to load the Tekkit part within the Technic Pack. Any ideas why this may occur? I'm having the same problem. Only I had it running before closing and re-opening the program to have it not re-open again. I'm running Windows 7 Ult 64-bit. And I also have the Java 7 that has been recommended.
