Try installing 64 bit java, fixed it for me.

The first time I ran the download for the launcher it seemed to have finished the download and then an error poped up saying "Cant find Java directory." Now everytime, before it starts the download again, that message pops up. I am running Windows, and as a side note i have always has an issue with running minecraft for long durations.
I found a fix, i remembered that once to fix minecraft i had to install 64 bit java, so i went and installed it and now it works

I to am having this issue, the launcher loads up partialy and then brings up an error message saying Java Directory could not be found. I also am running windows 7 (64 bit)

Anyone know how to apply texture packs on technic? xD sorry if this is such a derpy question.
