I have the Exact same problem as the first post. i have read the logs and they show the same thing however the only difference is the antivirus, i use avast. but i allocate 1.5gb and it only shows to be 247mb in the logs and in game when you press f3. it is actually quite annoying as after a bit of playing it starts to lag out and is starting to really annoy me. if anyone knows what is going on that would be helpful if you told us how to fix it.. i am glad that its not just my launcher doing this.
