Also, I am running windows 8 64 bit, 64 bit java, latest version of tekkit and java.

So I downloaded the server software. The world is up, I could log in to my world. Play around and everything. However, I cannot /op myself because the tekkit executable jar does not show up. I would like to be able to edit my settings such as keeping items on death and be able to op/deop people but I don't know how to without this page coming up. I also cannot monitor what is going on in my server without this. Is there a way to get around using the jar to op myself and do other things? Also when I pull of task manager it shows a java platform running. EDIT: So I figured out that I can type in the batch file. However, it is not allowing me to use commands. I can't even stop the server without going through task manager. Solutions?

I have this problem too. I run 64 bit java and windows 8. Im wondering if its an issue with windows 8. But the launcher loads after about 10-15 minutes of just waiting. I get stuck on the little loading square. Also, I have somehow managed to crash Tekkit twice in an hour. So I really am wondering if it is Windows 8 bugging out.
