when i launch tekkit it keeps saying unable to download minecraft, do i need to download the 1.2.5 .jar file and put in the cache file

Launcher fails to connect to internet

Everry time i launch technic i get a pop up that says "unable to download launcher. Please check your internet connection by opening www.techniclauncher.net in your web browser". my internet is working perfectly or i wouldnt be able to post this so what do i do. i have tried to download the "minecraft_1.2.5" and puting it into my cache folder it didnt work. how do i get the launcher to connect to the internet
