Maximum Potato

Hey everyone! Simple enough problem here, but I can't seem to find a solution. I have a bio fuel generator here, and a crusher. I know biofuel produces 10 KJ each, but crushing a single wheat is using almost 40 KJ! I'm using tin wire, and the electricity is travelling from the generator, through a battery box, to the crusher and an infusor (Note the infusor is not active). It's about a 6 block distance, and the wires are insulated...does anyone know why I'm losing so much power? Thanks for any help you can provide! By the way, this is happening in SMP. The version is 1.0.11.
