Above solution did not work for me. Did some more google searching and found a solution: Go into your .technic folder and delete the "tekkitmain" folder. Once you re-launch the client it will download some stuff and after coming to the greg's lighting part it will freeze for a moment. In a few seconds it should start loading something and then the game will start.
