  1. Things that make it easier to troubleshoot your problems: Reading the rules Reading all the related stickied threads before posting (Common Problems and Fixes, Good place to start.) Operating System (32 or 64 bit) Version of Java (32 or 64 bit) (Up to date version is 7 for windows) What antivirus you use Description of Problem Error messages or logs if they are available Read sticky... sorta, I scimmed it. Nothing applies to me. Operating system: 64 bit, windows 7, ultimate, pirated, no firewall, no anti-virus, no other programs give me issues, why the hell am I going into this since it's not a net error... Version of java: 64bit AND 32bit are both installed... C:\Users\Nicholas>java -version java version "1.6.0_29" Java SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_29-b11) Java HotSpot 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.4-b02, mixed mode) Anti virus: Like, you see, I was using one but it was gay n' shit and kept telling me stuff that I knew was a virus was a virus then deleted it and I couldn't sandboxie it so I just reinstalled windows and never installed an anti-virus again... that was like 4 years ago. I reinstall windows about once a month, I don't believe I've ever been infected. Description of problem: Well, you see like, I double click the jar and it only allows me to choose 512MB, 1024MB or... err... 4+2 = 6, 2+1=3, 0+5=5,1+0=1, 1,536 or something MB... It once allowed me (first time I ran it) to choose from 512GB to 16GB... but now it's being gay. I tried assigning the amount in the launcher.properties... it works (Hey, what do you know?) but then your program feels it has the right to just delete my setting and re-assign 1GB... I also tried making the file readonly, but then it just took off that flag and edited it again, which, I find rude. Error message: "Minecraft has like run out of memory because like, you're only like using 1GB and having 42 pages on TMI (or NEI or whatever you use) is enough to use up all that memory..." so... I can't open my inventory Moar shit that I feel like including because you want moar inf0rmation: %path% for the system (obviously has ; instead of \r\n, but, I edited it to make it easier for you. Aren't I nice?): C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common %SystemRoot%\system32 %SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\ C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTSystem\ C:\Program Files\TortoiseSVN\bin c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\ c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\ c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\Binn\ %path% for my user: C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenVPN\bin Java related shit installed starting with 32 bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.7.0_01 C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.7.0_02 C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6 C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7 C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin Like, awesome load of images for you to stare at and randomly pull a diagnosis out of: WOULD HAVE IMAGE HERE BUT MIN.US IS BEING GAY.
  2. >Opens big large book of internet misunderstandings >"Dear big large book of internet misunderstandings, \t\tToday \"Jay?\" misunderstood me on an internet post. This is the first time this has ever happened to me and I was quite shocked at the fact. I am not in rage however, I would just like to get this sorted out ASAP. Another thing is I would really like a nice steak pie from Gregs, or maybe a full rack of ribs with french fries and pasta from The Harvester. Love from your friendly neborhood forum poster, Automatic Coding. P.S. I'm not sure if color works, so, fuck it. Posting it anyway!"
  3. I clearly do not have a 32 bit operating system, nor executing technic launcher VIA the 32 bit version of java. I myself do dabble in java every so often so I would know the difference, I do have both 64 and 32 bit versions installed to debug my applications to make sure they don't fuck up on one or another. My system variable path ONLY includes the 64bit version of java, and even if I execute the technic launcher via: C:\Users\Nicholas\Desktop>"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -jar -Xmx5g -Xms5g minecraft.jar It will still only load with 1.5GB. Obviously, as I'm sure you'd know, 64bit programs are stored in Program files\ and 32 bits are stored in program files (86x)\. EDIT1: I've been using 5GB ram on minecraft since alpha now, I've never once had a lag spike. I run a smooth 600ish FPS without change. However, I do lock my FPS at 600 just because I find that anything over that I can't tell the difference, I understand my monitor refresh rate is 60, but, I find 10 times to refresh rate makes is nice a smooth compared to capped at the refresh rate. May just be a placebo, but, I like it that way.
  4. I have 12GB ram and the max I can assign using you launcher is 1.5GB. I'd like to assign 5, due to the fact that MC crashes a lot on mod packs with only 1.5GB ("Minecraft has run out of memory!"), I tried modifying the value in %appdata%\.techniclauncher\launcher.properties, it works once then the program changes it back to 1GB. I tried making it read-only and then it just deleted the file and remade it... I even tried Java -Xmx5g -Xms5g -jar {file}.jar, but it just told me it was restarting and did jack. How the f*ck do I assign more than 1.5GB?
